Him using Bobby as a bully is actually understandable. The parents would NOT ring their little brat in and discipline him. Hell, they even sent the cops after hank when he tried to take the initiative in teaching the kid a lesson in manors by holding his bike hostage. Those parents had to have a taste of their own medicine and it finally worked and got that brat-child to listen.

Ikr, yeah it may have been rather extreme, but considering how permissive that kid's parents were towards his bad behavior and their refusal to do anything to discipline him, what other choice did Hank have? I can't really blame Hank for wanting to go to that extreme, and if it took giving those parents a taste if their own medicine to get it through their thick heads that they can't just let their kid do whatever the hell he wants, then so be it.

As a kid, I never really cared for King of the Hill. Now, as a young adult, I understand the subtle magic of this show. Unlike the over the top bullshit in a show like Family Guy, King of the Hill actually depicts a believable place and relatable characters. Hank Hill is far from perfect, but he’s ultimately a decent guy who tries to do right when he can. We need a show like this to make a comeback.

Dale didn’t install the Alamo beer sign in memory of Chet, it was Chet’s sign. He wanted it plugged in but got told it didn’t work right, he didn’t care. After the funeral, dale plugged it in, even though hank said the same to him, it didn’t work right. So I mean…yeah they blamed the dead man for something Dale did in memory of said dead man. At any point, Chet himself could have set the firehouse on fire by plugging it in.

the cigarette one was a really good example- I knew it'd be somewhere on the list. One thing I was kinda hoping to see, but didn't... there were so many instances of him not wanting Bobby to do anything not masculine because of his own insecurities. One that comes to mind is when he finds out when Bobby wound up in a female self-defense class and he reacted badly. For some reason I always reminded that one- especially when he and Peggy talk him out of it because he can't use a swift kick to the groan to take her out.

#9 You can't blame Hank for going that far. I mean how else was he supposed to get through to that brat's parents? He DID talk to them and asked them to get their kid to stop but they just brushed him off. You can't tell me that if it had been you that little brat was messing with that it wouldn't have pissed you off. Using Bobby as a bully was the second best solution to his problem seeing as the parents weren't any help prior to it. Honestly the worst thing that Hank has done is disapprove of Bobby's interest. Like the time he learned to cook/sewing, I know Hank eventually accepted it later on but only because Bobby was able to fix his favorite jeans. There was also a time when he loved gardening roses. Again, Hank did accept it, however he got a little possessive during the competition. Rather than follow Bobby's choice of beauty and "character" of a rose, Hank tries to follow by the "book". And of course, the time when Bobby was a model and as usual Hank did not like that one bit. Which to be fair, Hank was saving Bobby from being humiliated at the fashion show.

While I will admit a few of these were wrong, many were perfectly justified. 10. Was actually wrong 9. Justified: Hank was trying to show the parents how out of control their kid was 8. Was actually wrong 7. Justified: Hank had no way of knowing about the tornado and did try to rescue his niece and wife from it when the news came 6. Justified: Hank and Peggy were teaching Bobby a lesson after he tampered with Luanne’s birth control pills 5. Was actually wrong 4. Was actually wrong 3. Justified: Hank misunderstood Bobby’s complaints and thought he was just whining about light work. When he did find out what a nutcase Bobby was working for, he did make up for it in the end 2. Justified: When Hank did find out about the drug addict, he attempted to fire him but HR got on his case about it DM 1. Justified: Hank was giving the man a taste of his own medicine for sexually harassing Luanne. Additionally, he was also showing the public how the dolphin was attacking guests so the hotel would be forced to take action DM 2. Was actually wrong DM 3. Justified: Hank didn’t know the woman was a prostitute until her pimp came to town. So Hank only pretended to be a pimp to get rid of him so the woman could turn her life around DM 4. Justified: Hank did tell Cotton he loved him. However, Cotton began mocking and degrading him for it. Hank’s last words to him being, “I don’t love you,” was just a coincidence, as he didn’t know how to explain it any better DM 5. Was actually wrong 1. Was actually wrong

The thing is that while Hank Hill has done some big goof ups, he tends to actually learn from his mistakes. Other animated dads like Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, and Stan Smith "learn their lesson", only to forget it and either do the same thing again or even worse than the previous time.

They forgot the two episodes with the order of the arrow heads, the first in which Bobby hits an endangered crane and Hank wants to cover it up and the second when he takes the scouts outside for a bit and loses two of them who run off. But to be fair he didn't know they had issues that were the reason their dad acted the way he did. There is also the garden gnome he destroyed. He took Bobby out to do Halloween pranks And there's probably a few more but I can't remember them right now.

For me, number 6 was the worst thing Hank ever did, i mean even though they weren't really married and it was just to teach Bobby and Luanne a lesson, having them get married was still technically incest, which we all know is illegal in most states, especially in Texas...which is why it's a good thing that it was all a fake, otherwise they all probably would of been arrested.
