Charley has quite a bit of trivia about it, having made landfall exactly one year after the beginning of The Great Blackout of 2003 while it's near-miss on Tampa inspired a legendary hurricane scenario, the Hurricane Phoenix scenario. As much as we of the tropical cyclone community of KZbin bring up the Phoenix scenario, it's obvious Florida largely forgot about it, although it's notable that the Tampa Bay area certainly did NOT forget about Phoenix. Charley was Phoenix I. Ian was Phoenix II. Both spared Tampa and Saint Petersburg, thankfully. When Phoenix III comes, will the Tampa Bay area escape destruction again?

It’s been 20 years since the blackout of 2003. It was mostly a northeast/rust belt issue.

Very good video, but the radar picture of typhoon wanda was the one from 1962 which struck hong kong, not the one from 1956.

You don't need a category 5 storm to cause any serious damage. Look up typhoon morakot in 2003, morakot was only a category 1 when it made landfall in Taiwan and that was one of their deadliest typhoons in Taiwanese history.
