Great video with a bunch of games I've never heard of! Looking forward to more obscure content like this! 🎮😎👍🏻

Yeh definitely they are all 2p machines now and all about winning a prize you can’t beat the old arcades of the 90s

Me too man. No arcades left in Dublin. Mate of mine went to Tokyo in 2019 and said the place was on another level for gaming. Huge arcades with almost any game you can think of.

It's kinda sad people will never be able to experience going to an arcade ever again. Especially in the US during the 80's when there was a seedy element to it.

You're indicating a lot with the decline of arcades during the 1990s and mid-90s they were still a lot of people around the world playing in the arcades. I would say that the decline really happened around the start of the 1998 to 2000s.
@n64fan602 ай бұрын
IMO you're right. When Dreamcast released, Arcades lost a lot of their purpose. Why play HotD2 at the arcade when it's just as good/better at home?

@n64fan602 ай бұрын
@Bubsy_Mods To be fair to the KZbinr, they had started to lose their purpose with the previous generation of home consoles. Again, using a lightgun shooter as an example; Time Crisis. It was certainly more impressive in the arcade, but that PlayStation port definitely did a real good job of bringing most of that experience home. Then there was the "perfect arcade ports" to Saturn/PlayStation that came from arcade boards based on those consoles (they weren't quite perfect, but almost). Stuff like Tekken. Then SEGA's mostly-good ports of Model 2 arcade games to Saturn, Capcom arcade stuff making the jump to PlayStation/Saturn. Dreamcast was the death-knell for the arcades in the west, but the previous generation did take some of the arcades purpose away, already.

Its refreshing to see a top 100 that is obviously coming from someone who knows what they are talking about and have arcade experience and knowledge. Most of the others top 100s are simply random games picked out the mame list with absolutely little to no context or relevance.

is there a mame rom for the peace keepers or is that the SNES version in your video , what about gandhara is that in Mame? ..i can only find references for MSX and pc-88
@StojanOdVeles2 ай бұрын
Exactly ! The Peace Keepers is SNES only game and Gandhara is MSX only game made by Enix (not by Taito as suggested in video !)
@ToABrighterFuture2 ай бұрын
Another thing about The Peace Keepers was that, depending on which character you played on which stage, certain story elements might play out in different ways. The SNES port was also notable for its somewhat snarky manual, to wit: "There are absolutely no secret codes for extra continues in this game. None. We swear. Zero."

Great video, just a suggestion that when you give the title of the game can you leave it on while the whole video clip runs instead of just a few seconds at the beginning of the clip.

I think he based his reviews on ChatGPT, the repeated argument that the games weren't successful due to the decline of arcades in the 90s seems pretty suspect to me.

Wish it was quarters for us. We had to put in guldens in the Netherlands. That was more than twice as expensive with the rates of 1990.

Im not sure what is going on with your "Hard Times" gameplay video compared to your narrative, but you are talking about a beat em up where you choose from 4 musclebound guys, but the video (which appears to be the actual game) is a shooter from the 1930s gangster times that looks nothing like what you are talking about. @56:40

I do enjoy it a lot of the arcade games especially the underrated ones I found a bunch of them at the Galloping ghost in Brookfield Illinois and from the Capcom arcade collection as well as this playing these great games and known them for a long time

Thank the pixel gods for emulation, 99.9% of these games would've never gotten the love they deserve without it. Could you imagine a place with one or two of every game? It would be bigger than anyone realizes and draw SO Much power to run. It would still be awesome though 😄👍
@marbles86412 ай бұрын
I'd say Mystic Warriors is a Run and Gun, Side Scrolling Shooter/Shoot em up (Throw em up? Since it's all thrown weapons) not a brawler. Undercover Cops actually has a few other issues, the international version was severely dumb down, with the Japanese version having more moves, different and more energetic music, and more enemy variety.
@dbenson9342 ай бұрын
I think Virtua Cop was pretty well known too much to be considered underrated.

Jesus said: I am the Good Shepherd and you are my beloved lamb!! Should I lay down my life for my lambs? He who is lost I will seek and He who is wounded I will heal… So why are you afraid, my child? In my arms, you have nothing to fear; trust me ! | From Jesus to you Today, the Lord invites you to abandon yourself to Him. He knows you, he knows what you need right now. He can and will act, but the only thing He asks of you is not to leave His Arms. Come and rest near Him, He is waiting for you...! Thank you for sharing, liking and subscribing! God bless you all!!

Nah we ain't letting Nintendo off that easy. It would be cool if they weren't out here suing everyone who makes anything similar to their games no matter how small the similarity is. No, inspiration is when you make something similar with a spin. Smash brothers is 90% exact clone of Outfixies. The only differences being the characters and stages
