🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:01:38 *🌡️ Optimal temperature for trout farming is 15-17 degrees Celsius for best growth efficiency.* 00:02:03 *🧪 Maintain ammonia levels under 1 mg/L for fry and 2 mg/L for grown trout to avoid toxicity.* 00:02:16 *🐟 Sensitivity to nitrites in trout requires keeping levels below 0.2 mg/L for fry and 1 mg/L for grown trout.* 00:02:42 *🌀 Nitrates should be kept under 50 mg/L for fry and 150 mg/L for adult trout to prevent growth deterioration.* 00:03:23 *🍽️ Feed conversion rate varies with trout size, needing up to 1.45 kg of feed per kg of fish weight gain for larger sizes.* 00:04:33 *🐠 High-quality extruded feeds are crucial for achieving good fish meat quality and feed conversion rates.* 00:05:00 *🥚 Most fertilized eggs for rainbow trout farming are imported from countries like the USA and Italy.* 00:06:08 *🌱 Normal survival rates from fertilized eggs to grow-out trout average around 60%.* 00:07:18 *⏳ It takes about 1.5 years to grow trout from larvae to 3 kg under optimal farming conditions.* 00:08:00 *🏞️ Trout farming tanks can be up to 5 meters deep, accommodating the species' use of the entire water column.* 00:09:10 *🔧 It's recommended to install preliminary water treatment units next to trout farming tanks for better water quality management.* 00:10:59 *📏 Stocking density for trout should ideally not exceed 100-120 kg/m³ to ensure stable and predictable growth.* 00:11:41 *💨 Installation of a degassing system is essential for trout farms to manage carbon dioxide levels due to the species' sensitivity.* 00:12:09 *🇩🇰 The Danish method of trout farming uses rectangular canals and air lifts for water circulation, offering energy efficiency and compactness.* 00:13:34 *🛠️ Design of trout farming systems must accommodate the handling and observation of the fish, suggesting large tank volumes for ease of management.* 00:14:03 *🐣 Vertical incubators are efficient for trout egg incubation, providing compact and controlled environments.* 00:17:30 *🕸️ Use 40 micron mesh for drum filters with fry due to their small waste size, and 60 micron for larger trout.* 00:19:21 *🌐 Ozone treatment is recommended for water disinfection in trout farms to ensure high water quality and transparency.* 00:20:02 *🌬️ A degassing unit is crucial in trout farms to manage high stock intensities and sensitivity to dissolved gases.* Made with HARPA AI

Could you do a video on Trout hatching and first 4 months? Could you also tell us about the lighting requirements for Rainbow trout? We have seen anything from no lighting to 24 hours of lighting. Thanks

Quite informative and helpful content. Kindly make a video on RAS for salmon

It's pretty much the same, except your temperature range should be 12 - 14 C. Regarding CO2, densities and recommended equipment it's the same.

Very informative, how you rate Danish Model (DM) over RAS indoor circulation system for GROWOUT system? Is DM have big difference then RAS in door system in terms of capital cost? Do you think DM even have less running and management cost over RAS? Is DM take less time to have same weight over RAS? How to make sure bio security in Danish Model? It will be really helpful if you could do a vlog on this matters as well 🙂

Hi, very nice questions thanks! Will try to answer: 1) Difference in CapEx - depends on actual location. If you have cheap source of concrete, then yes - it might be cheaper over plastic tanks 2) Running and management costs - no big difference, same processes. It mostly depends on HOW you have designed the system A and B 3) Fish growth - 100% same, it depends not on type of system, but on water temperature, quality, feeding and feed quality. 4) Biosecurity in Danish model - completely same and in normal RAS. Disinfection of water and people, correct fish movement etc.

As all of your vlogs are informative would like to know little bit more regarding profitability based on different species like trout, catfish, eel and telapia and for 10, 20 and 50 tons of production. Expense like power electric, gas, water and for feed. What you suggest which specie is good interms of profitability? Would appritiate if you could do vlog in detail for these questions.

Hi, great thanks. This is a lot of information and always related to certain location, market prices etc. Where do you live? Which country? And what prices for the fish do you have?
