Probably because you have a defective product or it is fake. It happens to many. Not to me fortunately. I dropped it from chest height several times on hard surface and no damage what so ever. Depends what case you have since you did not state it.

I have a recommendation. I would suggest dropping the phones from different heights. Such as sitting & standing pocket height, chest height, 10ft, 15ft, 20ft, 30ft, & 45ft. The reason I say this is because multiple drop heights gives you a good amount of test samples. I'd also recommend dropping a phone without a case @ the same heights.
