Yes it was definitely very hard. You MAY give a Beyonce song justice while sitting, but let's not forget Beyonce MAINTAINS the same level of vocal stamina WHILE dancing and running around. I would love to see whoever that is you are talking about do the same with same choreography Beyonce was hitting..

Merayah Carey Pia has a very fine voice, but the only time she sang anything dynamic was in the group numbers. And she did them well. However, every time she was singing solo she went for big ballads which made her seem like a one trick act. The judges told her that they wanted to see something different from her, but she never did it though goodness knows why. Haley went to the other extreme, I'm glad to say, but Randy and JLo gave her a hard time for it.

@@gynack tho yes, pia should have stepped more out of her shell (like in motown week) but the week she got eliminated she did perform the hell out of river deep, mountain high. she listened to the judge’s advice and got eliminated?

@@nateskeans9209 I'd forgotten this performance. I thought in the early part of the song who wasna very convincing, but as she got further into the song she came through more and more strongly. Being voted off was surprise as overall it was a powerful performance and all the judges were praising her very, very highly. Haley never had such lengthy, ringing praise even when she had standing ovations. The women were no doubt up against it with thon ridiculous voting system allowing people to fire off as many hundreds of votes as they could manage during the voting window. Obviously young teenage girls would be glued to their phones sending in their hundreds of votes for the boys they were crushing on. God knows how Haley reached 3rd. Idol had narrative going presenting Lauren and Scotty almost as young lovers - sigh! so sweet and romantic! Even Haley's brilliance couldna get her past that factor.

@@nateskeans9209 He and Lauren were chosen before it started. Idol was pushing them from the start. Admittedly Haley didna have a very strong start, but when she really got going she showed herself undoubtedly the most talented and brilliant performer of them all. Still, ultimately it was a TV show for entertainment, not really to to with finding the most talented singers. A reality show with drama, romance and supense. I suspect that might have been part of the reason why at times they were so hard on Haley. et audiences riled up, maybe make Haley break down. The media did actually latch on to the fact that Haley was being singled out for the negative treatment, and wrote about it. All publicity to swell the viewing figures. The ultimate aim of the show, and to hell with how they might achieve it, or what happens to the contestants apart from anyone they hope to tie up into post-show contracts.
