aMSa is the sole reason I started getting into competitive melee. Just hearing about him for the first time of a Yoshi player almost making top 8 at apex 2014 was mind blowing. So I followed him, which led me to watch other tournaments and seeing other great players like the so called "gods" and what not. Character variety is good people, it's gets the common folk to take notice.

So you wear a mask :)

Amsa's yoshi makes this game feel fresh and exciting. In a competitive scene where each high-tier matchup on any stage is mostly a solved game and simply comes down to execution, Amsa is a walking low-tier upset. Four years after breaking into the scene, people STILL don't fully respect the yoshi matchup, and that's where Amsa strikes. If you don't respect his Yoshi, he will cook you up and eat you for breakfast.

Sapo Ninja Hed be viable for sure, JOoS Nair would be even nore of a pain to deal with than shine OoS. Sure its not instant but I believe it comes out on frame 3, not only that Yoshi can escape pressure a lot easier than risking rolling or getting grabbed while waiting for an opportunity to escape.

If anything, I would say Thunderz resembles aMSa, because aMSa had his breakout much earlier than Thunderz. Actually, aMSa was also a decent threat in PM for a while, mostly before Thunderz rose there as well. He had a pretty sick Lucario, and actually invented the B-reverse wall climb tech used by Lucario and some other characters like Samus

How many other good players have beaten M2K and taken Mang0 to game 5? Besides, I don't think many people are going to be practising the Yoshi matchup and he got top 32 in the 2015, 2014, and 2013. He has increased exponentially in technical skill since his last US major.

But I would argue that there are a lot of better players around that would be able to beat him. I mean, maybe he can get top 16, but I feel like there is honestly no way that he is going to come to EVO and easily get top 16, much less get it at all. Top 32, but not Top 16. Also, there are a lot of players that have beaten M2K and Mang0. It's not that much of an achievement at a super high level.

Also, maybe people aren't practicing the Yoshi Matchup, but Amsa hasn't been able to play any of the top players from the US in the past year. He has been pretty secluded for a while in Tokyo, and hasn't had a chance to play a lot of the talent that goes to EVO. He's a great player, and he can definitely get top 16, but it's definitely not a given. Doesn't matter what he has done in the past when it comes to a tournament. Matters how you play in those best-of-3s and best-of-5s.

If there is ever a new "Player Screw ups", I don't remember when it was, I think Super Smash Con, but it was Mango doing the iron man where he would fight other people until he lost, and he was the only person but in multiple times in his team, and one point he accidentally kills himself giving a victory for one of the guys.
