man, tbh, before ddaeng came out, I'd probably rank suga #1 and rm #2, but after rm's verse in ddaeng I'd tie them at #1 tbh. suga is a great rapper not because of his speed or "tongue technology" (even though he mentions it enough to the point where he's know for it in his raps) - he is a great rapper because of his _emotion._ on the surface, suga is rarely negatively emotional. he's usually reclusive or monotone, and sometimes his energy comes out when he's happy or playful, but you almost never see him angry or genuinely sad. but he becomes an entirely different person when he raps and his emotion is so plain and raw that it elevates his rap to another level. rm is not as emotional, but he is clever. he is sly and smooth. while suga is uncontained, unrelenting emotion, rm is controlled, precise execution. he stands out from the others because of his unique voice and he has a quiet, dark energy to him that distinguishes his rap. unlike suga, rm is pretty similar to this in real life - he's a bit sillier and a bit clumsier, but he's also very focused, very careful about what he says, and very mature. and this is, again, really emphasized and elevated in his rap. ddaeng put rm on equal footing with suga for me because of rm's verse. the low near-whisper and the stuttering that was carefully coordinated into the rap was, plainly put, fucking awesome, and it really made me appreciate him as a rapper. so he definitely has proved himself to me. please note that i actually havent listened to rm's mixtape (or suga's, though i've heard agust d, give it to me, and the last while i have not heard any of rm's). note: though jhope is not as experienced as rm and suga, i still consider him equal to them. im simply not mentioning him in comparison to the others here because he ranked #15 while rm and suga got #1 and #2 and most of the comments seem to be talking about that.

Based on technique and how well they do in different styles of rap, I do agree that RM and Suga should be the top. Jhope has improved incredibly especially since he never rapped before they debuted. Jhope is my bias, I love him and I’m honestly not mad about this. He wasn’t a rapper to begin with, he was a dancer. Just being on this list is amazing cause it shows he’s really improved and gotten comfortable at rapping. I love his rapping, it’s always my favorite parts in songs but Suga and RM have a background and although I haven’t listed to others on this list, they probably have a background in rapping as well. I was never into idol rappers until BTS, I mean, yes, BigBang's GD and TOP are legends, no one can deny that (I can't imagine being a hallyu fan without them) but what I like about BTS is not just their style of rap or genre but what they're saying. They can be sweet oppas at one point and completely turn fuckin' savage in Cypher and their mixtapes, I'd say Mic Drop is savage itself. They don't even hesitate to talk about the sh*t they went through, and just dissed everyone who dissed them and their music, who cares? They do not simply dwell with love or break up songs but anything about life from people looking down at them to depression and more. I think that's what make them real artists. Rap is not all about who has the greatest voice or fastest mouth, but who speaks well and who's on point in every line. Suga stood out for me because he has a strong voice and strong words.

I heard of BTS before but I've got into them lately. It just sad that there was a point when K-pop seem to be off that I lost the chance to meet them earlier. you can't compare any of bts's rapline with each other lol that's impossible suga relies on speed and cutthroat direct lyrics, while Namjoon's style is more old school and the lyrics aren't really direct which makes them better than suga's, namjoon's flow is better than suga's but suga is father and has better rhythm basically namjoon is a better lyricist with better flow suga is faster with better rhythm and more intimidating verses so you can't say one of them is better depends on which rap style you prefer, and hoseok is a trap rapper

So, yeah, then what's the problem? Bts' rapline is not only about the speed, they have the flow, delivery and lyrics. It's not easy to list them in an order, because as you said rap is complex, but Bts' rap line fills in those criterias, so there's no reason to claim people to be biased just because they choose Rap Mon and Suga over also well-respected and good rappers such as Zico. Armys are not dumb and the fandom has its really smart and educated ones in it, I mean, we're millions. There are Armys who analyze a lot and put out the evidence of what makes bts' rapline so outstanding.
