Yes, indeed. The difference between Germany's population growth and France's population growth was due partly to "a huge disparity [ . . . ] in population growth." Did you mean something more like birth rates, death rates, infant mortality rates, emigration and immigration rates?
@felixblanchard73492 жыл бұрын
Yeah because France ended its demographics transition first in Europe. While it was the most populated until Napoléon, the growth rate started to decline after. Leading to a transfer of power in Europe from France to Germany.

Thats why France wanted a second war with Germany after 1871 as soon as possible. Germany outgrew France by such a huge amount, they feared facing 80 million germans vs 40 million french in a war. And it had nothing to do with unification! The french ppl just didnt make kids whereas the germans did.
@worndown82802 жыл бұрын
The difference was between a religious people in German who bred and a secular society which stagnated, France. If industrialization was the factor, the whole urbanization effect would have seen birth rates plummet. And this chart doesnt take into account that roughly 2/3rds of Germans left Germany between 1800 and 1900 to the new world, Hungary and the Ukraine. Texas, Mexico, and Argentina were all massive receivers of Germany immigrants.

Before the American Revolution, when tension between Britain and the Thirteen Colonies was growing, Benjamin Franklin argued to the British, even in testimony before Parliament, that it was foolish to ignore the colonists' desire for fair representation in government, because it wouldn't be long before the population of the Colonies surpassed that of the British Isles. The British monarch and Parliament ignored the warning; lost the Colonies; and in less than two hundred years saw their nation surpassed in military, economic, intellectual, and soft power by the United States. Population isn't the whole picture, but it's a part that mustn't be ignored.

The world's population has to curb at some point, whether it does through self-realisation of non-sustainability or through poverty is up to us. But it will happen.
@tdegrddeehjgd2 жыл бұрын
It will. At the end of this century. Ever noticed how all projected population charts end at the year 2100? It's because that is when the population will start to drop as the quality of life in the rapidly industrialising developing world will mean the birth rates drop and families will go from having 7 kids to probably 1 or 2. This is what happens when the quality of life is higher. Was the same thing that happened in Europe in the past and the same will eventually happen in Asia and Africa. Trouble is the profits of doom can't exploit that fact. The Earth's population will eventually reduce and remain stable at between 1.5 to 2 billion.
@connorjames62262 жыл бұрын
@@tdegrddeehjgd Europe's birthrate has collapsed because of the culture shift from the 1960s onwards(feminism, breakdown of the nuclear family, materialism, house prices and contraception being the main reason). - quality of life is better in ireland (higher gdp per capita) than all western Europe, yet their birthrate is still positive due to family structure and religion. Quality of life has nothing to do with it.
@diamondwyvern23732 жыл бұрын
@@connorjames6226 quality of life has a lot to do with it, Ireland might have a positive birth rate but it’s still lower than during pre industrial times, and that’s been the pattern for almost every country in the world
@connorjames62262 жыл бұрын
@@diamondwyvern2373 how are you defining quality of life? - most western nations have at best a par quality of life & cannot reproduce enough to fill all job roles so import immigrants. Overheads and social pressure on what children supposedly need is very very high western Europe, aswell as the family structure being obliterated.- compared for example to Ireland, UAE & Saudi (who have a better quality of life financially, aswell as a positive birthrate)
@diamondwyvern23732 жыл бұрын
@@connorjames6226 in this context I mean quality of life as in the healthcare system in a given country is able to provide for its citizens basic needs and people aren’t having 8 kids because they can’t count on all of them to survive

It is forecasting the population of African counties like Nigeria, Ethiopia, Congo, Tanzania, and Uganda to explode! Same goes for India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. These nations should plan for controlling their population otherwise it would be difficult to provide goods and services for such large population.
