The one I found most sinister was the autism simulator, I have autism my self but it’s so tiny people honestly can’t tell but this one is terrifying, the anxiety, hopelessness and confusion is a very true thing that I at points in my life can relate to, even if everyone jokes about autism (including me), it’s extremely serious and has left me with a food disorder (basically I’m really picky) and at times very deep anxiety and depression but I have lots of great friends and left my disability in the dust, if your struggling with friendships the that’s ok, you’ll eventually find someone

Having Autism, I can tell you all that #12 is really accurate. Noises I hear seem twice as loud to me because my brain cannot accept loud noises. This is also why I have to stand still when I see a church in the distance and the bells are about to ring: the noises would be too much for me and I'd jump so much that I'd cry. I don't hear voices distorted and my vision isn't fuzzy either, it symbolizes that anything that comes to me in big amounts can really be too much and I'll start crying without wanting to. I also move my leg regularly but people often think it's annoying and tell me to stop, but I don't choose to do that. I feel stuck in my own body. As a little kid I'd also smack my head on the pillow when I was sleeping, just to be able to move. I didn't choose to, yet I did it, always causing me to get a nosebleed. People never understood me, causing everything to come in even worse... and that's pretty much what you see in the video at #12

Um, that clown advertising the cereal is actually completely not scary. I would even say he did a good job advertising the cereal as it wasn't done in a absolutely terrible way. I think if I were old enough to view that when aired, it might even drive me to annoy my parents into buying me a box. Because of the artwork on the clowns face being just right, and the way he got up from the tiny barn and walked on over to the table, it helped a whole lot to see how he was a simple clown without a butcher knife, holding a spoon instead.

As someone with Autism, I can say that the simulator is an extreme overreaction. Basically, the way to think about it is like this: imagine if everyone around you spoke in a hidden code. You could understand what they were saying, but their words don't match up with their expressions or intentions. Sometimes, to the point where people explode at you in anger even though you can't understand what you did wrong. Think if every day you had to go through life seeing other people as ticking time bombs, and you've basically got Autism in a nutshell. Or more primarily, Asperger's Syndrome, which is under the Autism umbrella.

I have an autistic cousin, and from what I've seen, I'd guess that it might be accurate for some people (to a degree) but inaccurate to others, like you. Again, this is just an educated guess and an opinion, not a fact.

You can't really accurately emulate a disorder, unless you yourself have it, and base it on your own experiences with it. My guess is, either the one who made the emulator is severely autistic, or he just made it based on what he thinks it's like. I was shocked at number 15 when I clicked on it. My favorite show is Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and Salame was the first episode I saw and that scene is freaking hilarious, not scary! I was shocked that this made the scary list. I highly recommend that show. It's not scary at all, it's just a work of art.

autism varies in severity and affects behaviour individually; there's no way a single video can represent all the experiences of autistic people. that said, i'm positively sure that that video is a great representation of sensory overload experienced by high-functioning autistic people, like my brother.
