Yeaaa so the Teddy Ruxpin video isn't strange to anyone who grew up in the 80's and had or knew someone who had a Teddy Ruxpin. The real explanation is: That's what Teddy sounds like when the batteries are dying. We did it ALL the time back then. If you had one you'd purposely put dying batteries inside him because it was fun to hear him sound all slow and deep. We'd do it to freak people out all the time with my friend's Teddy Ruxpin. A few years ago some co-workers and I were reminiscing about "How creepy Teddy Ruxpin sounded when the batteries started to die" It had nothing to do with it having a digital cartridge. When a cassette is played with dying batteries, the wheels move slower, thus slowing down the voice to a creepy level.
