Developers put in countless hours of work into Aeronautica and therefore get these aircraft. If you develop your own game, you’d get special aircraft too. However if not, enjoy the ones you were given.

I would measure the planes by capacity instead

I can somewhat accurately measure aircraft by size, however there is no way to guess the capacity of some of them.
