He certainly had a few moments where he skidded a bit, losing momentum. And a gearing mistake. That's not 3 seconds, but I think that Bratchi's Evo is just faster now as well. Are we seeing the end of Schagerl's dominance? Because I think a Golf is not as good of a chassis as a Lancer Evo, nor is it as aerodynamic, and the 4G63 vs the EA888 as well...

Hillclimb Monsters tends to focus on the production-based cars. HillclimbFans gives the prototypes more of a spotlight, and they are _exquisite._

@@lukistr8939 well evo X has slightly better engine gearbox setup plus electronics package. But is 200kg’s heavier and Aero isn’t so great. Not much will change in short term. Ronnie’s car I cannot say much but should be rocket ship this season 😊

Slap big slicks, big turbo, big wing on an Evo, and it'll go fast. Effective, but it will never come close to be as impressive to me as something as the SLK340.

Christ. Beating Schagerl and his crazy golf shows just how _piercingly_ fast Bratschi and his Evo are. Hell, even being in the same continental landmass. What's even sweeter to watch is that the fastest off-the shelf car didn't crack the top 5. Hostility, yeah. It's a habit of mine.

We've seen regular GT3 cars win races before. I firmly believe something like the Porsche GT3 R Rennsport could win a FIA Hillclimb season, even in its stock form.. well, at least if the SLK 340 isn't regularly participating.

@@stoneehit seems the slk340 is losing favor to schagerl and bratschi on most of the courses on the calendar this past year or so. it'll be interesting to see if Reto develops the car any further for 2025.

@@nebula_444 SLK340 still holds multiple lap records to this day afaik, despite not really having participated these last couple of years. Schagerl holds some, Bratschi holds none. Correct me if I'm wrong - I find documentation on Hillclimb results extremely complicated, and could have missed or misinterpreted something. Anyway, we should go by times, not by point results, in races where often half the field doesn't even participate.. that shows us the true capability of a car and driver.
