The only reason he won is because Karla was bitter and probably told everyone on the ride to final tribal: “guys, I hate Cassidy because she got further than me, what if we all don’t vote for her, let’s all vote for Gabler!” Ryan Cody and Sami were probably like: “yeah dude that would be rad, no one sees it coming” Seeing Gabler get 7 out of 8 votes from people that didn’t like him on the island like Sami and Janine is just outrageous.

Cassidy, was a beast, she also tried to take credit for moves that weren't hers, she underestimated her social game and that cost her. Then she went on interviews claiming Carla turned the jury even though none of the jury has come out and verified that story. Gabler got to know people , he played a better social game and won. Stop it with Carla crap, she isn't that powerful to sway 6 people, plus if people liked Cassidy why would no one stand up for her? This is the Russel agreement all over again, it isn't about challenge beasts or idol. You love on the social game

Disagree. Tiffany was out of the game before shans name was ever even brought up. Liana told shan that she was in an alliance with evvie and tiffany but never told shan that she was going to keep her advantage a secret. It was lianas blunder.

@@MP-ef9yo while I agree about Liana being at fault, as well, just blurting out something like that is still a mistake. It made Liana lose trustworthiness on both sides, and in the end that effected Shan because she still wanted to work with Liana when the others did not want to.

@@MP-ef9yo It was Liana's blunder not to tell Shan everything, however, Shan still should not have brought up the advantage in front of Tiffany. Even if you think they are close, it's possible that they don't tell them everything. Especially if you think Liana is closer with you than Tiffany. That blunder caused Yasa to realize they can't trust Liana and allowed them to counteract the Knowledge is Power.

Very happy to see Lindsay & Danny ahead of Shan & Ricard. Those two were so good at managing relationships and their threat level. I think that Lindsay is the most likely person to do well on a second chance season because she won’t be viewed as this major threat and with her comp abilities she will go far. And seeing as Danny won and finished 2nd in two seasons on the challenge we know he’s good for the long game. I genuinely agree with each ranking although I do think that Yam should be ahead of Omar. (Assuming the top 5 is Erika, Maryanne, Jesse, Carson & Omar)

Thank you for giving credit to Carolyn for the Carson idol play. I think a lot of people give her a raw deal since Jamie and Lauren opted to not turn on the Tika's, but considering how many people get blindsided on Survivor for being overly confident, securing your majority while also showing off to the jury is a great movie. Heck, Boston Rob didn't need to use his idol at the Final 5 of Redemption Island since Natalie and Ashley didn't turn on him, but it could've been very possible for Andrea to turn them. Especially Ashley. Plus, who knows how safe Rob would've been at the F4, maybe Philip and the ladies could've turned on him too for all we know... probably not.

I thought this was a very strong list. The top 5 are obvious but I think Yam Yam deserves the top spot of winners depending on where you rank them. He was at risk more often than Maryanne and Erika but his ability to get out of certain death situations multiple times with his social game makes him the king of the winners for me. The three fallen angel strategists could go anywhere for me but Jesse had such an explosive endgame he might deserve #1.

I don’t agree actually. I’d say Yam Yam was really in danger twice. Final 12 and Final 11. Maryanne however was in danger of going home (From what we see in the edit) also twice, however; if Taku was to go to Tribal again after they voted out Mayra she def would have been voted out. If Tika went to Tribal before the swap and after they voted Helen, I’m almost sure they would have voted Sarah out. Also you can’t beat Maryanne’s Final Six move or her FTC :)

Great video! Can't wait for part two. IDEA: I think I came up with a new good idea for a video. I'll share it as a suggestion. I was re-watching the final tribal council from Winners at War because I love Tony's and Michelle's performances. It was something Michelle said that triggered this idea. She says at one point that she played this game with integrity, and I realized that she indeed appears surprisingly to have done just that. It's funny to me, because usually in Survivor the players that say that, well.. they say it a lot, and they are unaware of the fact that they did NOT play with integrity. I'm sure Michelle didn't set out to play with integrity necessarily (she probably just wanted to find a way to win), but she ended up playing that game probably because of her personality, and for sure because of her positioning in the game, not having the control. It would be super interesting to me to see a top, or a video about the players that actually played with integrity, real integrity, not Coach Wade - integrity. 🤣 I guess it would be kinda difficult to make a video about that. First you need to define it. And we only see what production chooses to show us in 42 minute per episode... I wonder if I can think right now of any other players that fit this. Hmm, Ian from Palau? Colby? Woo? I'm not sure about Woo. Why did he choose Tony? Because of loyalty? But even so, the rest of his game I don't feel he played with integrity, I don't know. Did Lil' from Pearl Islands play with integrity? I don't remember 😂 I can't think of any more at the moment, but I feel that there are some players that probably were mid-game boots. Hmm, Morriah from Survivor 43? She was too nice for the game 😂 Ok, this all the effort I'm gonna do. It would be awesome if you like the idea and make a video about this or something similar if you find an angle you like better. Much love ❤️

Gabler deserves even more credit than you give him. I think the most amazing thing about his game is the fact that in every single one of his confessionals, he tells you exactly what he is going to do, what the response will be, and how it will set up his next move. He knew EXACTLY how he needed to play, and then he did it. Hell, even in his pre-season interview, he says he think he's most like Sandra, and then he goes and plays just like Sandra, down to being one vote away from a perfect game. While other players have been more scheming and flashy, I have never seen another player who has such an accurate understanding of the game and their place in it. While you may say that this is the only scenario where he wins, I think he could definitely get to the end of if not win any season he's put in to.

Editing plays a big part. He didn’t have that many confessionals because production only included ones that were positive, just like his FTC performance

You can argue semantics at that first vote, because tribe strength is important at that stage of the game, not the the person going home mattered since the didn’t lose again but that can be called understanding the game. While a handful of the merge cast beat Gabler, Cassidy and Owen are like 2 out of the 4 who don’t. People who state “Cass was robbed” don’t understand the game. The original comment gets as close as perfect one can get when describing Gabler’s game, after the 1st vote.

Yam yam at six is wild. I feel like on any given season I feel like he has the most potential to win. Everyone Loves him so they don’t wanna vote him off. with people like Jesse Carson, who are higher then him. Are the type of people who will always need to win fire to win. He has one of the best social games. I see it in a while and had the most confidence in him to win a any random season.

Ricard that low is criminal. Dude was one challenge advantage away from winning the whole season and has massive win equity entering the final 5. The move on Shan was something he had to do or she was gonna steamroll her way to the end with her followers. Very well rounded player I would put him around 5 or 6

completely disagree. he mismanaged his threat level, didn’t ally with people he could use as shields, and he put himself in a position where he would have needed 3 straight immunity wins to make it to final three. that’s a bad gamble. his social game was weak, and he overestimated his own ability to manipulate people. the story of shan vs ricard played well for the edit but if you really look at what happened, he was used by people around him when it was convenient for them and then he was discarded when they no longer needed him.

Erika wins the challenge without the advantage. Also why are we so sure he wins final immunity against Xander and fire against Xander or Heather?

@@rol2377 Only 2 immunity wins were needed, since it was known he was easily the best fire maker. Betting on yourself to win 2 immunity challenges in a row when you're by far the best challenge competitor left is not a bad gamble. If Erika doesn't get the advantage, I think Ricard wins that challenge, Deshawn goes home, and then he wins the fire making challenge to advance to f3 and then wins no matter the f3 combination.

Hoestly... It took me about 1 minute to come up with my own list. There have been many intriguing people on the new era of the show, but pulling the stand-outs (in my opinion) from each cast gave me: 41: Erika, Ricard, Shan 42: Maryanne, Omar, Lindsey, Jonathan 43: Cody, Jesse, Karla 44: Carolyn, Carson, Danny, Heidi, Yam Yam A couple other people I thought of were Cass, Mike (42), Danny (both 41 and 44) and MAYBE Gabler only because he won his season.

I am a fan of S41 and am glad to see Shan and Ricard here. I understand why they were ranked so low, since they did not manage their threat level properly. S44 was a fun season, but imo has the least memorable moments in terms of gameplay in the new era. Top 5 with no doubt: 1. Jesse 2. Omar 3. Erika 4. Carson 5. I agree with almost everything here except for Shan. She only had the stranglehold on the premerge the way she did because her tribe is possibly the worst tribe in terms of social gameplay in history. She didn’t actually have that much power in the the post merge and was mostly kept safe because of Ricard and because the initial alliances lines were drawn on very outside the game factors instead of strategic ones (which is why they were all so quick to turn on each other the second anyone felt they had the security to do so). Her terrible social performance on the challenge doesn’t help that perception out either.

Richard deserves to be higher on this list as, besides not being able to manage his threat level, he was the best player. He got to final five when he only had one other ally, in Shan, at the merge. I believe he is the best player in 41.

I don't think that the physical part of the game is unimportant, and that's maybe more true now, with players like Danny and Naseer, Brendan, Jonathan, and Erika and Omar being able to guarantee they'd make the merge for reasons other than social, with Danny, Erika, and Omar all putting it together, almost winning, or for Erika, actually winning, and Jonathan got to fourth place as well

Only one on this part that I dont agree with is Carolyn. I probably would have her down around borderline top 15, probably on the outside looking in. Great character. Good survivor player. But I think to an extent getting Yam Yam and Carson on her tribe was one of the best things for her. Think most of the other tribes she is first one out.

@@stephena11 No world she is top 10 to me, even if you ignore the "what ifs". I cant see any way you call Karla, Ricard, or even Cody a worse player than her. If she didnt vote out Lauren in 5th, you can make that argument. Carolyn is an amazing character, but only above average when it comes to social/strategic overall.

@@e_eyster karla was terrible premerge, made wrong move after wrong move putting her in a spot where she couldn’t make it to the end.. Ricard was terrible socially & needed Shan to carry him premerge and took out shan way too early bc of his ego which led to him having to either win 4 immunities ina row or get voted out.. Cody i could see as debatable but i mean he did idiotically give his idol to someone and then get voted out that same tribal (carolyn was smart enough to not tell anyone about her idol until it was time to use it) and she didn’t have the numbers to vote out lauren at 5 bc heidi and carson weren’t going to flip on yam yam so her doing that woulda just put her on the outs… so yea she’s easily ahead of ricard and karla.. Cody is debatable but cody made far more game ending mistakes than Carolyn ever did which is why i would place her higher

Before I watch this video, I'll just put my ranking here. I couldn't make it just 15 so I got 20 people, who I think played the best games. After I watch the video, I can make a comparison. (It's just my opinion that is slighly biased, don't get too upset) 20th Cassidy 19th Lindsay (42) 18th Jenny 17th Danny (41) 16th Danny (44) 15th Shan 14th Noelle 13th Drea 12th Erika 11th Mike (42) 10th Karla 9th Carolyn 8th Carson 7th Ricard 6th Cody 5th Omar 4th Yam Yam 3rd Gabler 2nd Maryanne 1st Jesse Honorable mentions: Frannie, Nasser, Tiffany, Eevie and Xander Edit: Karla and Mike are lower, but I understand their position. I will defend Gabler's game until the end of time. I truly believe that he played fantastic game. Im my eyes Shan played good, but not great winning game. I mean I wasn't rooting for her, so I might be biased. Now RIcard played much more impressive game and he would definitely won had he made it to the end. Litlle lower than expected. Lindsay was good maybe even great player, but amongst other great playres on her season she doesn't have the most impressive game, but I get why you put her this relatively high. Danny is underrated and amazing, but I couldn't put him higher. This ranking was already extremely hard to put together, so he stays in 17th, but honestly maybe in few month I will change my mind and put him higher. Cody and Carolyn played really strong and with different partner or better FTC, they could've been the winners. Very similiar placements. Yam Yam's social game is truly off the charts. Definitely my favourite winner from this new era (even If I think that Gabler and Maryanne played slighty better). Well besides Gabler, Ricard and Danny, my ranking is very similar. I will do rest of this in part 2.

Maryanne had the bigger moves combined with the social game, and Erika managed her threat level so much better than Yam Yam did, that’s my guess to what the reasoning is.

@anthonyuram2017 Maryanne's social game was actually pretty bad. The only notable people Maryanne got along with were Lydia and Romeo (2 people who couldn't vote for her at the end)

@@bomberdawesome I’m not so sure. She was noticeably out of the “majority” at the merge, but never was up to be cut because all of her allies were in it, that’s social game. I’m not saying it was a greater social game than Yam Yam, but she had the big move on Omar completely on her own. I also would have put Yam Yam over Maryanne myself, I was just saying what I think his reasoning was going to be 😂

@scottwaldo Disagree with Carson. He was a great player, but he would've lost against Yam Yam. Drea was actually very solid. People tend to forget that Drea dominated her pre merge tribe and was never considered a threat because of it. She was great socially, strategically, and physically. If she never told Mike about her advantage, I think she could've won.
