The great eastern warpaths that interstate 75 and 95 follow may be paved and slightly divert in places where the original road was placed for battle strategy not ease of passage but ultimately follows the same route north and south that the natives used for war and trade for a few thousand years before we paved it with the exception being the unpaved Appalachian trail.

you dont know wich one is the oldest italian road ,is the "via Salaria" that goes from Roma to San Benedetto del Tronto ,it was the road in where the salt (very precious good) was trasported from the Tirreno to the Adriatic coast ,this road existed long time before Roma was founded ,it was also the route used by the Piceni (part of the Sabini) to send their colons to the adriatic coast during the "sacred spring" ,the simbol of the Piceni is the woodpecker because one of them showed them the route through the mountains
