Top 15 Realism and Immersion Mods Vol 3 - ArmA 3 Mods - 2021 [2K]

Here we are in 2021, and this video is long overdue. The modding community continues to push the envelope of what the ArmA 3 engine can do a little bit more each passing week, and in this video I’m going to highlight 15 of the some of the best realism mods available on the workshop. Do know that these are largely my own opinion and that there are an absolute shitload of incredible mods on the workshop provided by some of the best content creators in the gaming world. A couple of these have been featured before in a top list but have not been featured on the realism list, so I thought I’d give them a second nod to suggest that not only are they incredible mods in their own right, but they will add to your immersion into this wonderful game we all love so much. Not gonna lie, that NVG mod at 15:27 is lookin kinda cute... Thanks for featuring BettIR again man, no words can explain how flattered I am by the response of the community. Some of you may know that there's a big update planned for it, but I just didn't have time to finish it yet. Also glad that you finally showed some decent footage of it :P And great video as always bud, some of these mods are absolutely stellar. Goobin and his gang are some really great people, so the weapon swap, canting and his other stuff that he's working on are a real change to the infantry gameplay in Arma.

A million thnx for your mod! Btw, is it possible to hold breath while using your laser pointer? I find it difficult to aim with it because it sways quite a bit and you cant hold your breath like when aiming down scopes.

LET'S FOOKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I've been waiting for an IR Illuminator mod for so long! Even tried writing one myself, but everyone on the forums seemed to believe that it "wasn't possible" and a "limitation of the engine". The weapon transition and high/low ready mods are freakin sweet too. Bless you for pushin out this gem right as I was dipping my feet back into ArmA 3!

Short answer: I like getting paid for my work. Long answer: I spend hours and hours putting vids together during my off duty time. Working this long to make videos and finally become monetized wasn't easy, so the ads are my revenue generator. Every video I post I cut the ads in half, YT does indeed spam them in there. But I do thank you for your kind words :) If you're good at something, never do it for free.

Two things "GGE: Weapon Swap" has one Dependencies "GGE: Core" and the second is the link you have for it is the wrong one, that one takes you to "GGE: Weapon Canting". But great video non the less, keep up the good work!

Thank you! Where ya stationed? And good luck! I'm trying to go the same route, I rushed the 169 FW down in SC last year to fly vipers, didn't get it though. Still a great experience. I'm looking more at the CSO route now because their numbers are lower than pilots. Ha. And honestly it's not too bad, you get used to it. Doing something you're passionate about isn't that hard when you enjoy it. :) Family always comes first!

@@mustardman2557 WOLFPACK! I was there from 14-15, loved it. Went to Okinawa as a follow-on. Friends you make at Kunsan is family forever, so enjoy your time! My favorite thing was running down the bowling pin trail on the flight line and watching the vipers do touch and goes right over my head. lol. I'm glad I was able to get you back into flying in ArmA 3! So much life left in this game, and we're all praying for ArmA 4 lol. My advice, from a 10 yr TSgt to a new A1C is this: 1) Learn your job and be the best at it. Don't get a big head about it, but be the most dependable one around. Hard work will literally 100% of the time take care of you, and leadership will see who works hard and who shits the bed. 2) Wingmanship. Its not bullshit when we talk about being a wingman. Take care of your team, and eventually those under you. If you see a fellow Airman struggling or falling, pick them up, be it work/personal matters/whatever. That is seen as well, and all comes around to help make you into a better leader. 3) For commissioning (and I'm sure your LT has told you this), know that officers are leaders first, their job second. Its one thing to be the best at what you do and rise to the top, its another to be the best and bring others with you. Everything you do should be done to help make yourself, your shop, and your troops better.

@@Viper1Zero thank you I really appreciate it, I also enjoy running the flight line there is nothing quite like it when you get to watch the F-16 come in. I'm glad that I enjoy comm because I get to work with my hands and use computers at the same time. I will say it was strange at first when I first got here last year, with CDCs and everything. hopefully, I can fly with you in arma some time. When Arma4 comes out I hope aircraft feel more like DCS. Also, the F/A-18 is a blast to use I'm hoping for an F-15, F-16, and F-22 to have an interactive cockpit.

ARMA is such a great MILSim/Game, I hope they Bohemia considers making a version 4 with a better engine..and that us, the community, will work on porting all these great mods over to next version if needed. There's a reason why ARMA got the Labout of Love-award on Steam 2020. ARMA

Another cool thing about massi’s mods are his special forces uniform mods, the op-scores and MICH2000 textures are absolutely beautiful, even in low graphics, compared to MLO and RHS

I did, yes. Honestly if it didnt require me to block out 45-hr every time I wanted to do ANYTHING I would be doing DCS. ArmA 3 is so easy to get in, do some work/footage gathering and get out when I have time. I love DCS and the F-16 module, and I may do some flights in the near future. But as a primary content generator I just don't have the time for DCS on the regular.

Speaking as someone who is looking at getting into Arma 3 but hasn't yet, I'd like to see a vid on recommendations, either general ones or mods, for someone starting out. It's a big old game with a lot of stuff added and its kind of daunting for someone looking to just get into it as a casual (at least initially).

wow you get your reticle back on target so fast! I use a lot of SMA weapons, specifically the mk17 SCAR and it has a hell of a kick... is a weapons recoil built into each weapon? Any way to reduce it?

ACE is the only mod that fixes Arma 3's stupid instant fatality system where you can shoot up someone's limb and they immediately succumb. You cannot use it with bCombat, though.

You sure can! You just have map them in the controls settings, but it all works great when you get it working!

@@Viper1Zero The thing about playing Arma with a joystick is messing around with a keyboard, mouse + joystick can get annoying. Unless you are strictly flying I find it a hassle to setup my gear. That's personal though. Do you play DCS as well?

I couldn't get Injured Animations to work ... I set it up on my Liberation server and tried a few times with no luck! It could be one of the suppress mods conflicting with it.. but it looks awesome though!

Does the LLW PIP mod increase the PIP distance in the AH-64D Apache Project mod when you display your PNVS on in your monocle?

So that mod is no longer needed since Bohemia updated a couple weeks ago and added PIP view distance slider in video options. Whether or not it changes the view distance in that monocle I’m not sure.

Yup! They’ll work in the campaign, but vehicles won’t spawn unless you make them with Zeus.

My main problem with flying in Arma is the size of the maps. Even Altis doesn't last long when you are flying in an F18. I'd love to see a huge map that maybe skips having water and has fewer locations and stuff, but is much bigger for bombing missions.
