Flying Dino is by far….by *FAR* , not only the greatest coaster in JP, but very arguably the single greatest steel coaster ever made, right up there with Eagles Fortress, Vekoma’s Stingray, Jungle Force, Piraten, Lisebergbanan, etc etc. it begins & ends with FD when we’re discussing JP coasters. After that, I’d probably say Hakugei gets that #2 spot. SD2000 should be up there just based upon history & landmark status. The issue with this video, is that this mark hasn’t ridden every coaster in the area 🎯 🤤 dozens upon dozens of meishos, TOGOs, & other obscure JP manufacturers that have littered the countryside with coasters that are absolutely awesome

Hey we did what we could in 2 weeks!! 😂 If I had unlimited time/$$$, I could’ve ridden everything lol. But I’m glad you agree about Flying Dinosaur!

love your smooth and chill tone of voice. We can hear the fun in your voice while speaking about those coasters. Not sure if you went to bad enough parks to have a top 15 worst coasters
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Aww you are way too kind!! That really means a lot. I'll be honest almost nothing I rode in Japan I'd consider bad!!

I'm so glad you added music. I didn't want to make suggestions like a know it all, especially since you have friends who make content. I just caught up on all of the vlogs. Thank you for bringing us with you. Considering how hard it can be to find time to talk to the camera while at a park and all the other content that doesn't make the cut. It looked like you had an amazing time. I hope you got to enjoy off camera time. My coaster bucket list is getting quite long.
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Thank you man! It definitely has taken some practice and experience to learn when to film so as not to ruin your day with others at a park. I'm glad you like the music too! Still kinda experimenting with that

Great list! I rode 71 coasters in Japan during my August trip. Here are my top 20: 1. Eejanaika (#1 overall) 2. Hakugei (#3 overall) 3. Flying Dinosaur (#37 overall) 4. Fujiyama (#40 overall) 5. Pyrenees 6. Hollywood Dream BackDrop 7. Acrobat 8. Takabisha 9. Thunder Dolphin 10. Kawasemi 11. Surf Coaster Leviathan 12. Zokkon 13. Big Boom 14. Steel Dragon 2000 (only got two rides in the middle of the train, very underwhelmed but still good... it's hard to screw up a giga lol) 15. Ultra Twister 16. Diavlo 17. Regina II 18. Venus GP 19. Bandit 20. Gekion Live Coaster Notable parks missed include Rusutsu and anything further west/south than Himeji
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Honestly pretty spot on with mine! Steel Dragon being the only major difference haha, I get it not being everyone's type
@iliketrains3546Ай бұрын
My top 10: 1. Eejenaika 2. Hakugei 3. Steel dragon (definitely the most underrated in Japan imo, on most of my rides the ending was like a smooth magnum) 4. Flying dinosaur 5. Takabisha 6. Thunder dolphin 7. Hollywood dream 8. Acrobat (another underrated gem) 9. Zokkon 10. Fujiyama
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Not too far off! Dragon over Dinosaur though, I respect the opinion, even if disagree 😛
@DirkschneiderАй бұрын
Nice list! I also love Steel Dragon 2000 and Acrobat. I would say riding Acrobat feels like flying while The Flying Dinosaur is riding YOU. 😂
@DirkschneiderАй бұрын
This is your best video yet. It's absolutely fantastic! Is these all your own footage? It's breathtaking! I was especially happy to see scenes taken from around the main attractions. I recognised the road coming out from Tobu Zoo and the cityscapes. It made such a beautiful framing of your top 15. Here is my Top 15: 1. Pyrenees 2. Eejanaika 3. Steel Dragon 2000 4. Hakugei 5. Thunder Dolphin 6. Acrobat 7. Kawasemi 8. Flying Dinosaur 9. Takabisha 10. Fujiyama 11. Surf Coaster Leviathan 12. Regina II 13. Hollywood Dream: The Ride 14. Diavlo 15. Gran Montserrat Honorable mentions to the coasters at Yomuriland: Bandit and Lipovitan☆Luna even though Bandit was a bit rough and Lipovitan a bit too tame to make the list. Zokkon is also almost making my list but motorbike coasters is probably my least favourite type of coaster. Elf was also a fun wood coaster in the charming Hirakata Park.
@coaster365Ай бұрын
I told you I'd make up my Pyrenees score 😉. But thank you so much Aron, that means a lot. Probably shouldve thrown an honorable mention to Gran Montserrat too!
@DirkschneiderАй бұрын
@@coaster365 Yes, I was starting to think you had left out Pyrenees when you passed Hollywood Dream: The Ride by several positions. I was happy to see it so high. I also liked Hollywood Dream but I have a hard time to remember any specific elements if it. So, it is lower in my ranking. Did you ride Demon Slayer at USJ? I thought that was good as well. I didn't have high expectations. My positioning of certain coasters is a sign of my relative inexperience. As I ride more hypercoasters in the future I can see a coaster like Steel Dragon dropping in my rankings but right now I find it very impressive.
@coaster365Ай бұрын
@ we did ride Demon Slayer yes!! It probably could have made it I may have gotten to film more footage 😅

You know the hot takes! To me there was a clear number 1 by a mile, and like you, it wasn't the S&S 4D. Also, I think i liked Pyrenees more than Flying Dino, but I still thought it was amazing. Great list though and I agree with many of your comments about certain rides!
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Martyyyyy thank you! Those Top 4 are all so so good, and yeah Hakugei was honestly getting the #1 spot as we took off from Japan, but I just couldn't ignore how unique it was vs. anything in the states.
@ScottyMania313Ай бұрын
Hakugei is the most beautiful-looking coaster on the planet, at least to me. It has this vibe of Japanese paintings of Mt. Fuji and "The Great Wave of Kanagawa" painted by an artist named Hokosai. I love the shape of the ride and the paint scheme. It's something else. Awesome vid. I look forward to binging the Japan videos when it's Turkey Day Season lol.
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Let's goooooo haha, will be a great Thanksgiving 😜. Hakugei is indeed so damn stunning, actually love this comparison
@Cedar253Ай бұрын
My top 5 1. Eejanaika - it’s impossible to explain how good this ride is 2. Hakugei - wild ejector airtime, like a supersized mini RMC 3. Steel dragon 2000 - fairly intense but an awesome coaster 4. Takabisha - a lil rough but rly fun 5. Thunder dolphin - massive suprise imo

YO I've been waiting for this, so imma give my thoughts on your rankings from the ones I've ridden: Panic Coaster Back Daan is definitely not well known and I'm glad you're appreciating it in this video and I went in with no spoilers and it was really fun! Acrobat was definitely a coaster. I rode in row 2 so it wasn't the best ride for me. the rolls were really fun but pretzel loops in front rows dont really do it for me except for like the top tier ones. takabisha for me I rank wayyyy higher lol. Every inversion has really good float and really awesome positives and extremely smooth. Basically a fully package coaster. Yeah mt. fuji looks awesome back there glad you went on a clear day! hollywood dream is one of the most underrated roller coasters I've ever ridden as it ranks inside my top 10 which I definitely didn't expect. That's just backwards by the way. The airtime on the drop and the hills before the midcourse brake run are absolutely insane. glad you are ranking zokkon super high like I am, I definitely did not expect ranking this ride that high, and it was also my first modern intamin. all the snaps are super satisfying and now I get the hype for hagrid's. fujiyama is one of my favorite coasters ever. literally a giga. every single hill is super graceful besides the ending and i definitely agree with the cons actually being pros with the last few hills. steel dragon 2000 is honestly up there in my top 10 also. I find this basically goliath at sfog but better in every way. Runs super smooth and very fast with every hill giving solid floater and ejector, and very strong positives at the far side of the layout. thunder dolphin was really good for me, probably wouldn't rank it this high. the layout is pretty good and exceeded expectations after watching CS's review from a few years ago, but the views from this coaster is awesome, not even talking about how photogenic this coaster is. eejanaika hot take goes crazy, I guess I fit in with everyone who ranks it #1 cuz its absolutely insane. It's probably the saddest thing every that I only got one ride on it in row 2 outside seat but even that was enough for a #1 spot. I agree it definitely had some kinks in the rotations and it not being perfectly smooth but that kinda works in its favor. Hakugei I found not too insane or out of this world. Yeah it's an almost hyper rmc so obviously its in my top 10, but i think rides like arie force and ghostrider are better. honestly most rides in Japan are very photogenic. The first half until after the first 0g roll is what makes the ride for me. Flying Dinosaur. Holy heck I respect you so much for this being your #1 in Japan. This is #2 overall for me under eejanaika. If i would go back to japan to ride 1 coaster, I would choose eejanaika obviously cuz i only rode it once but Flying Dinosaur is probably my subjectively favorite coaster with that first sequence of elements and the second half being surreal. It was nice following along with your journey and seeing you experience world class coasters that I have ridden just a few weeks before that. Most coaster I didn't type most likely didn't go to the park, so I still have much to go on if I ever go back!
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Absolutely amazing recaps! Hard to disagree with most of them. Yeah as I mentioned in the video, inversion machines, especially huge, quick ones like Takabisha, will never rank super high for me, but like I said, still a great coaster!
@alantrotter2077Ай бұрын
I think Surf Coaster Leviathan, Big Boom, and Bandit could all crash your list based on what I know about them. I think Fuji Q might be the second-best setting. I think Wildfire at Kolmarden looks tough to beat. Both are great, I'm sure. I need to get to Japan. Hakugei and Eejanaika both look off the charts and I'm only 3 RMC's away from completion so it will be a priority. Good list overall.
@coaster365Ай бұрын
Thank you Alan! Those three were for sure rides I thought of that could've cracked it. Need to get to Kolmarden ASAP
@funtimeswithtom4108Ай бұрын
Lets be honest your top 3 are more like a 1a, 1b and 1c all fantastic coasters for what they are. For me I have Eejinaika (still can't decide if its the best coaster out there or an evil Government experiment) edging out Flying Dinosaur (the absolute best B&M flyer out there) I have only done Eejinaika twice and now I worry I won't be able to ride anymore since I am 55 now (what a dumb safety rule). Also mad props to you for Back Daaaan - Panic Coaster, I made a special trip to Japan for my birthday last year just to ride it on my birthday and it did not disappoint.
@coaster365Ай бұрын
That rule is SOOOO dumb (among others in that park 🙄), but I couldn’t agree more about that Top 3, no matter how you ordered it, no one can judge you!

"If you could go back to Japan and ride one ride, what would it be?" Broke: Flying Dinosaur Woke: Fujiyama

Happy for you that you got to do this. Japan is definitely on my bucket list. We don't live that far apart. About how long was the flight from the Northeast?
@coaster365Ай бұрын
We did Toronto to Tokyo on the way there, the 2nd flight being about 13-14 hours! Stopping on the west coast (LA/SF/Seattle) definitely breaks it up more, its about 9-0 from there
