Thanks!! Good highlights! 😊👍 Especially liked the bonus shots! Felt for Immonen because neither player (or the ref) spotted that non-foul. Having said that, the cue ball ended up almost where Shane put it with ball-in-hand so Shane would have easily run-out. However, this raises a great point in favour of possibly getting video-review for big tournaments - like most other sports have. I think video review or hawkeye in pool would be awesome! (They already use it in snooker but only to show audience the players POV when snookered.)
@XHeadhunter665 жыл бұрын
Disagree with the position The cue ball ended up near the spot (referee didn't bend over much to reach for it so maybe even below it), which would have made the shot alot harder. I believe with the distance and angle it would have been tough or impossible to hold the cue ball for position. So he would have had to go up and down with it. Not saying Shane wouldn't run out, but would have been a huge difference imo. Mika could have noticed the contact if he would have stayed still after the shot, so i guess own fault.
@diathekedriven5 жыл бұрын
@@XHeadhunter66 agree 100. Someone mentioned him having an easy shot on the 5 if the foul wasn't called anyway, but the cue ball went up table pretty far. And it was going to be a pretty steep angle. No way to hold it for the 6. And at that angle he would've had to go around a couple of rails for position on the 6. I don't think just up and down the table was available at that point. Anything could have happened. I'm sure he would have made a good shot and got on the 6 but they all need to pay closer attention. Especially the ref. I bet John Lehman would've spotted the contact.

Efren Reyes raised the bar for high risk shots and multiple rail bank and kick shots. Back in the day when someone attempted these shots and missed they would be ridiculed. Efren Showed them you can either risk it all or play safety with a double purpose attempt to make it in a pocket, if it misses it's either a safety or very difficult shot to make.

What’s with the gloves on the bridging hand
@deathmetalmarten5 жыл бұрын
It makes the shaft glide flawlessly smooth. Do you wear a glove on your grip hand for some odd reason?
@michaellavery48995 жыл бұрын
If you are more familiar with snooker you wont see gloves, but they are frequently used in the various pool versions to lessen friction on the bridging hand.
@plzitzjustmahcheezits9095 жыл бұрын
In snooker ash cues are used and ash cues don’t have the moisture retaining properties of maple, maple being the wood used in pool cues. Thus pool players use gloves to lessen the friction cause by moisture and sweat, and why they aren’t really used in snooker. Also because British people like being traditional I suppose.

that's why all alleged fouls must be able to be reviewed and verified by camera at the top level upon request for non obvious fouls...and have 1 per game so it doesn't turn into a circus...if it's not a foul then they keep the 1 review and can appeal again on a different shot if needed...I understand that it might be harder to implement this during qualifying but not impossible...someone can lose a LOT of money if something like this happens...its not like pros would have to appeal a lot anyway...this type of scenario is exactly what it would be used for...I'm sure that the places that they qualify at can afford to put a camera over the tables like the overhead views on tv to use for review...it would be a business expense and tax deductible anyway so they could just give money to the IRS or use the money to enhance players experience when playing there...if you had to miss a tournament for some reason and you can choose the dates to miss...your going to choose the tournament you have a better experience playing at and installing cheap cameras that are tax deductible anyway would provide a better experience because you know that the cameras never lie or just happen to blink at the perfect moment...players will double check if they could (at least once) because there is nothing to lose...this could change the outcome of the an entire tournament and can cause people to lose a lot of money...I'm 100% certain if he could have reviewed the foul he would have....once 1 foul is overturned and players hear about it then it will be the norm to check on these exact shots
