I used to live on the western slope of Colorado and I agree. There are way more than enough towns in Colorado that beats the the hell out of any town listed on this list and it is not just the snow. It's savage brutal winter weather that comes with the massive amount of snow that the western slope towns gets every winter.

Just last week, I saw that they were supposed to get between 5 to 9 feet of snow. Nice little town, great hiking and outdoors, but they can keep the winters up there!

I live in Rochester (65 miles from Buffalo) and for the past several years we've received a lot less snow than Buffalo has. In fact, last year we only got about 60 inches of snow for the entire winter and the winter before that also about 60 inches. A bit contrary to what Briggs has said, we only get grazed by Lake Ontario snow while Buffalo and Erie are in the bullseye path of Lake Erie snow primarily due to normal wind directions coming from the west, southwest, and northwest. The Tug Hill area (section between Syracuse and Watertown) gets far more snow in New York than any other place in the whole state. It's common for them to receive 1 - 3 feet of snow a few times each winter month.

States I traveled to on this list: Arizona, New York, Pennsylvania, and all over my resident state California. Experienced Donner Pass at night with snow falling. That is one scary ride in the wintertime! Recall sledding, snowball fights and making snowmen as a kid in New Jersey; occasionally they phoned everyone and closed school during a snowstorm -- always a fun surprise. I'm from Grass Valley CA (near Truckee) and my mother is from there and I've been through Truckee when the snow is so high the top is higher than the roof of a single story house, or you don't feel very high up on a ski lift, or you feel like your walking in a train tunnel. Truckee is east (maybe ENE just right up I-80) of Sac, but certainly the Sierra Nevada gets some of the most snow in the country (and some seasons, the world) from the northern to the southern end of the range. Here in CA mountains I know at least some areas have more strict regulations on how to build homes, but a couple years ago entire communities were literally being warned about collapsing roof danger if they didn't shovel some off and it probably did happen to some (being the mountains only some contain full-time inhabitants, rest are vacation homes). Wouldn't doubt areas saw 400-600" of snow that winter, ski resorts even higher. Now add in the potential for rain during some atmospheric rivers that hit our state and bring extra high snow levels, that extra weight on roofs with 10' on them is scary. Nothing worse than wet snow

The average seasonal snow fall for Minneapolis over the last ten years is about 42 inches. For the 2022-2023 season, we got over twice that at 87.5 inches. In the 2014-2015 season, we only saw 15.4 inches.

Truckee isn't a city! You said, at the beginning that you would only cover large cities, and _no_ small towns. I lived there for 3 years, back at the end of the 70's----just a couple blocks from the Donner Memorial. It was just a small town then----population 4000. We didn't even have mail delivery. We had to pick up our mail at the post office. And yes, it snowed! One storm in early '79 dumped 4 feet in just a few hours. It is also the coldest place----hitting -26*F one night that I was there. It was also a really cheap place to live. I've heard that now, it has become an overpriced Playground for the Rich.

Briggs, I'm sure someone already asked you this before, but iut of curiosity, why did you move to Top 15 instead of 10?
