Great idea! Need two accompanying videos : objects for focal length range 700 to 1200mm, and another for 1200 to 2200mm. Cheers
@OPTTelescopes3 жыл бұрын
Thats not a bad idea! We might keep that in mind for future videos, or make it 20 objects with half being more widefield and the other half being long-range

I give you a plus but you should state the same information for each object like a constellation and distance just in order to be coherent.

Thanks for this video but I have a couple of questions. Not only for this video but the other videos that are for spring and summer. You say the information for shooting these objects is based on a 4:3 camera. Compared to my Nikon D810 that 4:3 camera is 2:1. If I use a 600mm lens on my camera it would be 600mm. If I put that lens on a 4:3 camera it would be 1200mm. For example, to shoot a particular object in the sky you say best to use 600-800mm for that object. Does that mean I need 1200-1600mm to shoot it with my Nikon?

A lot of the targets you mentioned were good for broadband really had me scratching my head. Heart and Soul? They're emission nebulae. California? Same. When you're suggesting broadband, are you assuming that the camera being used is either a dedicated camera (like the mentioned ASI1600) or a modified DSLR? Because people using unmodified cameras will likely be sorely disappointed with their results on pretty much every nebula you mentioned except for m42. It's Valentine's Day in a couple of weeks... I would have thought you'd include the rose on the list :)

What would also be helpful is if you could give some suggestions on exposure time, number of exposures and ISO settings for DSLR users. There doesn’t seem to be any information on this that I can find.
@OPTTelescopes3 жыл бұрын
We unfortunately cant give that information because it changes depending on many things like filters if you're tracking, how good your tracking and polar alignment is, the amount of light pollution in the sky, guiding, even what kind of sensor and camera will change these answers. There are so many variables that will change the answer to your question. Our best advice is to use the histogram if you don't already. Your histogram will give you a good indication on if your over or under exposed on your target

Is a focal length of 650 mm still good enough and an aperture of 130 mm
@grandmasteryoda9893 Жыл бұрын
depend what you mean with good. focal length and miroir size realy dont have much impact how well made the optical preformanse are exept from the f ratio. but that (f ratio)only is about speed the sharpnes is not a part of it.

We get shipments in around once a month, the best way to get one is to order it and as soon as they come in, we ship them out to you! It's worth it!
