Explain with which lens you defocus as in my experience youre unlikely to be able to see the star like that with a 14-24mm. If polaris moves a little bit during exposure your trails will be blurred but your original statement that it doesnt move was correct. Georgia guidestones proved that. However its an interesting location.

I just found out opt is closed permanently. That is a bummer. I was in scope sales there from 2006-2011, and the first person to ever dethrone Mike W as top salesman. The full end of an era, but when Craig sold the company was the beginning of the end, it just took over a decade to die. What did it in and when did it end? Covid? Shortages during covid? Maybe Wikipedia might have some info, im gonna check

Here's another idea, if you use mono camera and filter wheels then why need color correction in scope, adjust focus as you change filters, correct for other things but don't worry about color

My problem has been getting the programs, and drivers to work on windows 11. I never had the problems I am having today with my old Mead cameras and my old windows 98, or was it 97, computer. All my old equipment got destroyed in a flood. I use ZWO cameras, and SVBony cameras now, vs Mead cameras before. I use SkyWatcher GEMs now, EQM-35PRO, AND EQ6 R PRO, vs Mead EQ 75. And a Windows 11 computer vs Windows 97. I sure would like to get the computers working before I get my observatory built.

for the life of me, I cannot find the polemaster software. The all in one software does not install it for me, I have tried 3 times now, and all I can find other than that on their website is drivers

An excellent overview to study and digest. Now I need to factor in light pollution and seeing conditions. I've heard that both affect what pixel size is best, which is what most real-world astrophotography encounters. I'll look through your video catalog. Thanks again, Michael

Great tutorial! You wouldn't be able to do this if we were living on spinning ball, would you?
@max52502 ай бұрын
Actually, we do live on a "spinning ball", and these star-trails are product of Earth's rotation.

Thanks. Very clear. However, you skipped over a couple of things. Getting the adapter optimally seated in the mount. Focusing the Polemaster. Also, since the polar alignment with Polemaster is independent of Declination position, polar alignment can be repeated if the alignment gets bumped by just moving the RA.

I’m looking at purchasing an astro camera, but don’t want to spend too much ( I’m stage 5 renal failure ) and it’ll be short term use. What cost range would I need to get a good photo? Can anyone recommend something a beginner can afford and use easily enough? Thanks

Well.. I don't quite understand this video and it makes me believe you never went to the southern hemisphere ? Large and small magellanic clouds, the Carina nebula, indeed the chicken one.. but why mention the eagle nebula, the cat's paw or the planets ? you can see those from the northern hemisphere.. weird

What if I just use the scope just for visual? Every time I use the focuser it will be unbalanced from the declination. I use my eq just for visual and have not graduated yet to astrophotography.
