Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2 is still the best fan game ever made, in my opinion. Lecarde 1, despite its gameplay shortcomings, is a masterpiece when it comes to dark atmosphere. On that list, the only one I never played was Serio's.

I got stuck in the castle portion of Lecarde 2 and had to take a break from it. I definitely want to go back and play it again but actually complete it this time. Such a well-made game.

​@@SaviorJooshes Hiya and thanks! The game is not full yet but since this video there has been about 12-20+ updates. Adding lots of graphical, sound, story, feature and new content updates. Currently working on the next patch but I'm a lot behind due to making a huge patch almost a game rewrite update to another game I made called Monolith Tiermes for a dungeon crawler jam. Once that update is done I'm back working on this game 100%. I dont have a time frame as I'm bad with those but I originally intended to finish Simons Curse this year but I'm uncertain about that. It still has lots of content to play and saves SHOULD always work with future versions as well. If you follow the project you get notifications once a new version comes out. Thanks for showing interest in the project =)

@ Hi and thanks for the interest. Game is still being made thou currently primary focus is on another game that I try to finish as quickly as I can. Once that is done im back to working with Simons Curse fully. Original goal was to release full version of Simons Quest this year but I doubt that due to the other project I have been working on and having less free time.

Chronicles 2: Simon's Quest as well as the Lecarde Chronicles 2 are ones I found out about recently, and really want to try them both! They both have their ups and downs of course, but still I do love me some Castlevania, and have been looking for new ones to play since Konami isn't likely to release a 'traditional' Castlevania (either linear or Metroidvania style) anytime soon, if at all.

Those are 2 of the best Castlevania games I’ve ever played. TLC2 is extremely hard though and can be frustrating at times, so be prepared!

The reason for Konami not makeing a castlevania is that the company is gone too 💩 as the guy behind silent Hill said after he Quit working for them.# he said on a recent podcast if they change there ways I will return but it's not likely going too happen .

Chronicles 2 was great. And it had one of the most satisfying final boss fights in the series. It was rough and felt good when I finally beat him. I do wish there was an option to choose a more toned down soundtrack, like the original game. I’ve never been a big fan of the heavy metal music people sometimes use in Castlevania games.

Finished Lecarde Chronicles 2 about a week ago. Absolutely amazing, both the game and the soundtrack, despite being fan made. The quality is very good. I'd love to play another installment! Castlevania ReVamped less so - feels like a racing game. 😅

Sad how the few great ones are STILL not finished and it's been over five years (8 for one) like Simon's Curse and The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest which again - 8 years and still supposedly only 60% completed. No one wants to play demos...and by the time they finish these games it'll be too little, too late and the fan fare will be lost.

Unpopular opinion, «The Lecarde Chronicles» duology is one of the bad ones, due to its level design & imbalance, and taking into account further games that the dev released on Steam, I'm not alone in this opinion, since they didn't get any better. No negativity, just frustration, and now there are a lot of much better projects that aren't overrated.
