I live across the street from the Byodo-In Temple so I’m happy you added it in. I feel I’olani Palace should have been added in, also Polynesian Cultural Center is another great place to learn culture with lots of fun activities. Since I was born in Nu’uanu I was surprised you didn’t suggest Pali Look-Out for those that might not be able to do those hikes. I do appreciate you educating visitors about leaving the harmful chemicals at home!

Please don’t tell people to go on “ illegal hikes or trails” . We have had too many deaths and severe injuries from people going on these hikes. The State is even talking about charging people for the costs of search and rescue. Hawaiian’s are getting tired of taking all our resources to save people who refuse to follow rules! These places are closed or restricted for a reason! Please respect the aina and the people of Hawaii.

This was more about hiking than anything. I love the Diamond Head hike. There are also some great things to do such as Kualoa Ranch, seeing some gorgeous scenery on horseback, even some wild pigs running around. I love Bishop Museum & Iolani Palace. There's some great history there! Anyone who goes to Sunset Beach Park to surf at Mokapu (Banzai Pipeline) needs to take the undertow current VERY SERIOUSLY. There have been many tourists and locals who drowned when they were pulled in by the tide. It happens so fast and is so strong it's surreal in a bad way.

I live in Oahu and I love your list! One top thing I would add is the Iolani Palace. Pearl Harbor is a great way to get the US history, but the Iolani Palace is super important and cool to be able to learn about Hawaiian history.

With Covid they sold off a lot of their cars. The whole Aloha Stadium was filled with unrented rental cars. Now the demand is back and the supply is not. That’s why it’s so expensive now. You could try Turo, but also the city bus system is pretty good from what I hear. I’ve never used it tho.

1:05 - Why driving counter-clock wise makes you closer to the water?? It is Hawaii, not UK or Japan, people drive on the right side of the road
@TolKOZAK3 жыл бұрын
This may be too difficult for you but use your imagination. Close your eyes and imagine driving North while on the East side of an island. Just like anywhere in North America, if you are in the correct lane driving North and the ocean is to the East then your car is closer to the ocean because we drive on the right. You're welcome.

@horacevu3 жыл бұрын
yes, that is the scenic route to northshore because the road is literally right next to the water. You can also stop by the macedamia nut farm along the way near Kaaawa/ Laie.
@sunnyd843 жыл бұрын
Yup but be ready. Kailua is my hometown and it's no longer what it used to be. Still a beautiful little beach town. And if you drive around the Lanikai loop. You can see all the big mansions. There's the waiahole poi factory on the way to the north shore just after leaving kaneohe.
