Is it possible that the "bottle opener" on the Civivi Qubit is a design cheat to cover up a requirement for clearance of the blade for the plunger lock (much like the Smock)?

I don't see why though. Plenty of button locks out there without that dumb thing 😆 it's possible but I just don't see why/how. Thanks brother. Maybe they needed to slightly do that then they made it in to that

Possible. I always thought it was just being lazy and not designing the scales and blade in a thoughtful way to blend nicely when closed. Also, I know knives are meant to be used, but anodized aluminum scales + bottle opener? That wear pattern will just make it look ugly instead of a hard worker.

Yeah I don’t get the hype with the Pyrite. It is decent but I don’t know that it deserves quite the praise it’s gotten. Sometimes I wonder if it’s all about pushing sales numbers on some of these models.

Im sure numbers plays a role. The thing about most of the KZbinrs on here is that a lot of these guys doing these top 2023 list didn't buy, Most any of the knives almost every single knife from every video I have bought myself. There might be one or two that I didn't, but I don't think so. Which gives me a different perspective, I'd love to have companies send more stuff in, id still be the same way though. If it's good its good if it's not it's not, I won't sugar coat stuff. I've already lost dealings with a few companies over not saying what they wanted me too. But the Ekko is hands down a better knife and design than the Pyrite alt. I think the Ekko the frack and the riff are all better than the Pyrite Thanks brothers

Shout out Gball on all the great content and vids you’ve put out this year! I’ve enjoyed seeing the growth in you. Much more confident in your mic skills and it shows in the enthusiasm in your voice. Bravo From the outside looking in, it seems the Cjrb pyrite and the Civivi fg vision were clear winners with maybe the Civivi cubit bringing up the third in KZbinr popularity and praise. Personally, I think Vosteed is the brand winners this year. The schilling blade on the Nightshade is so unique. The Racoon could be a flagship knife for them and the symmetry in the Corgi is so original that it seems to me, Vosteed is a contender for top affordable knives Keep it up and hope you have a great upcoming year!

All great knives! So many I’d love to buy right now, but I’ve had my eye on the Bugai. Kizer has been killing it lately and as you said, they are king of the micarta scales. Great video, appreciate the content!

Great list. Many knives on here I wish I got the chance to handle, but my 2 best 2023 knives under 100 would have to be #1 Civivi Vision FG and #2 Kizer Mad Tanto. Both knives are fantastic values. 2 very different knives, but both amazing for different reasons. The FG with the size and the strength and ingenuity of the Super Lock. The Mad Tanto with one of the most beautiful and useful Tanto blades I've ever seen and ergos that match or beat a PM2. Have a Merry Christmas Greg!

I agree man! The crazy thing is the mad tanto came out early 2023 and held a high or top spot for me the entire year. Great Collab and the FG is a banger. I tried to put knives ahead of it and come up with reasons to not have it at number one. I couldn't do it. Thanks brother. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

Great list, have several of those, I think Miguron is impossible to beat for the price, only thing i would change is have a few more Kizers in there. Really love seeing reviewers "Top" list, and which knives make nearly everyone's list.

Love your content brother .,but would love if you ad other channels would show and discuss blade stops as well as lock "dimensions" and lockup. I am aways in the hunt for a solid strong well designed lock bar..lock face and blade stops on the knives that I may need to hard use..including self defense., which is absolutely part of E.D.C. requirements.

About half of these knives are on my wishlist. The only ones I have are the Pyrite alt and the Ekko. Both great knives, but my favorite knife of the year is the titanium version of the Kubey Tityus. It may actually be my favorite knife of my entire collection. Easily top 10.✌️

Pyrite Alt... I got my wife the one with G10 handle and I loved it, ordered one for myself with the smooth steel handle... Hate it. The G10 handle makes it way better, plus I need to order the Ekko. But I want button lock and G10 or micarta handle, unless another version is superior?

@@ddubsakadl I have the steel handle Pyrite Alt. Got it because I like the anesthetic, but I kinda wish I would have gotten the G10 or micarta version. Still love the knife though. I got the micarta Ekko, and the micarta is the hard, smooth, plastic feeling stuff which I don't really care for. I'm kinda spoiled on Kizer's micarta. The Ekko also came with a really strong detent, which makes it hard to open. I have some carpal tunnel and arthritis in my hands, so that may not be an issue for you. Otherwise, still a great knife. ✌️
