One thing is for sure, shouldn't Stella and Odalia count as the worst moms to have? These two are literal Karens and they don't care about the well being of their child. Heck Stella even neglected Octavia and referred to her as an egg in The Circus. While Odalia caused Amity to give up her friendship with Willow and became the mean girl she was before Luz and her friends redeemed her and became the lovable girlfriend for Luz. Overall Stella and Odalia are prime examples of terrible mothers. They got lucky they are not on this list.😡

It's debatable if Stella counts because Helluva Boss isn't your conventional cartoon; it's unique and internet exclusive, but if it did count, then yeah. She isn't even mad that Stolas doesn't love her, she's mad that Stolas doesn't respect her. Maybe he WOULD if you didn't insult him and his daughter! And I think she manipulated Octavia too, making her think Stolas was wholly at fault, when he's still much better despite his own faults. Hell, BLITZO is a better parent than Stella cause he's at least trying to make Loonie feel like part of a family, and is starting to be successful in that. And Lucifer? Charlie is so lucky that having the devil as a father turned out to be so wholesome! But Odalia... what more can we say about her? She deserves to be on this list, no question. Unlike Stella who is only implied to be manipulative, Odalia is. There is no room for doubt, and she does it sneakily, using an accessory to talk to her with only her to listen. Let me reiterate; she told her to do bad things while no one else could hear. She's sneaky, she knows she's unpleasant, she only cares about herself. But there is one more parallel between the two moms; Stolas and Alador stood against their respective wives in the end, initiating a divorce from them. And they became objectively better people for it! Why? Because they stuck with their kids after the fact. Alador showed himself to be more supportive, and Stolas went to L.A. to save Octavia. Via may have thought Stolas hated Stella more than he loved his daughter, but he's shown that the people he loves come first, even if he sometimes messes up with her..

It was also revealed in Tangled the series she had a biological daughter, Cassandra (Cass for short) that she treated more like a servant and burden then a child who just wanted to show how much she loved her mother, but Gothel abandon her on the night she kidnaped Rapunzel as Royal guards were at the house where they found Cassandra and the captain of the Royal guard adoptive her.

In the animated series in 2017, she neglected her actual biological daughter Cassandra. Pink Diamond may have started as a selfish brat, but she ends up becoming a much better person. She only started to be hated because we saw her development in reverse. However, I don't think she would be a terrible mother. I mean, she did gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven. However, one can say that her wish to have Steven was selfish, since she basically disregarded what her absence would have on the ones that loved her and how she basically caused her sins to haunt Steven. But... should we even consider her a mother when she never got a chance to be one...?

We have to remember that everything bad that happened in Steven Universe -- the Gem War, the crystal fragments, the cracking of Pink Pearl, the exile of the Crystal Gems, etc. -- happened because Pink Diamond ran away from her responsibilities and only ended because Steven stepped forward and filled the empty space his mother left. We can make an argument that this really was all about being who you are and the right to own destiny, but the hard truth is that Pink Diamond leaving her sisters was the grenade that started the explosion.

Not always, I figured out by the age of six something was really wrong in our home. It's not self pity when I tell you I knew I'd never want kids. Lucky for me I met my beautiful wife 30 years ago who felt the same way. Nobody who knows me has ever seen me slam a door, kick the dog or scream at a waitress, all the things I grew up with. When my niece had her 3rd suicide attempt my sister visited her once in the hospital to tell her she was paralyzed and never talked to her again. And they think I'm the strange one.

@SpamEggSausage I just read your other reply, "not every woman WANTS to be a mom". For a second I thought your reply here was nasty (shame on me) but you're right. Our neighborhood is full of one child families because of the money and time involved to do it right and if you can't do it right don't do it at all. It drove my mom nuts that my wife wouldn't "give her" more grandchildren like a vending machine. She already had 5 but since 3 were adopted they weren't "real grandchildren". Her exact words. Of those 5 kids one has had 3 suicide attempts and 3 more are in therapy. Sorry for the length of the post, I'm not the best communicator. Hope we're good, have a good weekend.

My only nomination for worst cartoon moms is Doña florinda from El chavo animado she doesn't discipline quico very often sometimes once in a blue moon and everytime when quico and Chavo gets in a fight and quico starts Crying she takes it out on don ramon when she should put Chavo in his place even though chavo is not her child

Dishonorable Mention (And it's a mystery why this DIDN'T make the list): *Odalia Blight - The Owl House -Some of the entries on this list simply weren't there to support their kids, but with this entry in particular, maybe the Mother in question was around too much. Case in point, Odalia Blight. If I could describe her best, she's like a twisted cross between Mother Gothel from Tangled and Ghetsis from the Pokemon Series. When we first meet her daughter, Amity, we're led to believe that she (Like Pacifica) is a bully. We're led to think she's this show's version of Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series or Diana Cavendish from Little Witch Academia. However, this is not the case. And then we find out why she's like this. It was revealed that Odalia was the reason for Amity's behavior and then it reveals her to be the least redeemable character in the series (say for Emporer Belos)! When Amity was a child, Odalia forced Amity to end her friendship with her childhood friend, Willow, and instead surrounds Amity with only similarly like-minded people in hopes of making Amity more like her. Those like-minded people being children of Blight Industries business partners. She also instills a toxic, harmful, conceited, and elitist mindset in her, dyes Amity's hair green, and even puts a telepathy necklace on her so she wouldn't step out of line. Given Odalia's disposition, even Amity seems to believe this mindset and grows into a talented albiet arrogant and self-centered witch, even acting and treating others like Odalia would. In a way, Odalia is basically molding Amity into the splitting image of herself by raising Amity the same way she'd train a dog. And even when Amity starts showing signs of becoming her own self (like patching things up with Willow and falling in love with Luz), Odalia has Amity's friends expelled so that they wouldn't have Amity stray from her preordained path. Then when Luz tries to get Odalia to reverse the expulsion, she strikes a deal with her to have her test Blight Industries weapons at an expo with the intent on getting her killed. Even her own husband, Alador, was a victim of Odalia, who withholds information from him and the rest of the family if it means "what's best for the family." Which leads us to her ultimate sin, supplying Emporer Belos with an army of Abomatons and aiding him in his genocide plan under the false promise of a higher place in society. This final confrontation encourages Amity to finally put her foot down and disown her, severing ties and letting her family decide their own paths. Mother knows best? I think not.

Okay, I am kind of disappointed Odalia Blight is not on the list. I mean, for starters, her marriage with Alador sounds more like a business partnership, but she actually sees her children as nothing more than her investiment to better expand her wealth and influence. Then there's the way she treats her daughter Amity, starting by forcing her to end her friendship with Willow and be friends with mean girls like Basha instead and also die her hair so she would look more like her and demand nothing but perfection both at school and at home. She even went as far as to force the expulsion of Amity's true friends from Hexside just because they were turning her into someone she disapproved of and manipulated Luz into accepting to test their products to basically... end her? Finally, let's not forget all the schemes in order to get more wealth and influence which included supporting Belos' genocidal mission under the wrong perception he would make her and her family royalty (which was incredibly stupid to even believe he would keep his word) and even trying to manipulate the Collector. Sure... she is not homophobic, but should we really make that a good thing when homophobia is a foreign concept at the Boiling Isles?

Sheryl is Actually Not Only a Terrible Mother Abd a Terrible Person, But, One that Makes the Likes of Odalia Look like a Complete Saint. So, Really.......

Sheryl Goodspeed from Final Space should have been on here. She was a neglectful piece of work towards her son, Gary as she only gave birth to him just to steal plans on an antimatter bomb from John Goodspeed. When she was found out she blamed Gary, who was a baby at the time and told him she wished he was never born. She later came back to Gary when John died by abandoned him completely shortly after, turning Gary into the goofy and insane guy he was in season 1

There was Odalia Blight from Owl House There is also Nelly Ruckus and Bunny Ruckus from Boondocks even though they appeared in one episode, but created a huge impact. These two are the worst mothers in Boondocks. Nelly abused her son and her family and wishes to die so she doesn't have to deal with her family causing a horrible cycle of hatred and violence. Bunny Ruckus lied to her son Uncle that he's white man and adopted despite Bunny is Uncle's biological mother and Uncle is really black. She raised Uncle to hate black people and love white people. She is also a horrible wife. Bunny is also insane. She along with her husband and Nelly are the reason Uncle Ruckus is the way he is.
