I firmly believe that Coldplay have not only mesmerised so many people with their breathtaking music, but also cured a lot of people’s depression. my fave Coldplay song is I Ran Way, a Rush of Blood era b-side. so beautiful and lightly aching, like a late Sunday afternoon. the last 30 or so seconds are transcendent, and for me, the most beautiful moment in their discography. in general, they have some fantastic b-sides, some of which I think are better than some of their album material. aside from that, I also love the songs Rush of Blood to the head and X&Y - both are captivating, haunting masterpieces, the former an incendiary slow-burner and the latter a volatile, celestial exploration of fragility.

Parachutes was/still is a masterpiece every way possible. Not a single “bad” song on that album. Just my opinion.

Yeah A Rush of Blood to the Head is my favourite Coldplay album, but Parachutes does have the best guitar work on it, if I’m being honest, it’s a melancholic masterpiece. My least favourite track is Shiver, and my Favourite track is Don’t Panic, but I hope that the boys will play it live from beginning to end in July, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Parachutes.

Tristan Feinauer, I mean, from a resonation stand point I get that, because it’s not really the kind of sounds you would come to associate with Coldplay, but that’s what makes it so unique at the same time. I definitely preferred it over quite a few tracks from the album though, like BrokEn, and don’t get me wrong, I like all the songs of Everyday Life, (in-fact, it has some of their best lyrics to date on it imo), but BrokEn is the most unlike Coldplay song, I feel like I’m in a church when I listen to it. The same could be said for When I Need a Friend as well, but it’s meaningful & raw which was the themed aesthetic of Everyday Life. Lyrically it was unfiltered truth.

And then on 'The Escapist' it feels like your soul is leaving your body and merging into one with the light. Most underrated Coldplay song ever, period.

I absolutely love “O” from Ghost Stories. Another criminally underrated song is Everglow from A Head Full of Dreams. It’s actually the single version that’s better than what’s on the album. The single version has no drums and is just vocals, piano, and some very soft guitar. The outdo also has a very nice monologue from Muhammad Ali. You should totally check it out

The piano from Clocks is probably the most nostalgic music sound I can think of, at least for me. That, Come Clean by Hilary Duff, and Superman by Five For Fighting (while I will admit that the latter 2 aren’t exactly objectively great) but they really take me back to that era

Coldplay is the one artist that was in my top five when I was 12 and today as I’m 18. Some of my favorite memories in my life are attached to Coldplay, especially Clocks. Oh, and Ghost Stories is one of the best albums ever to do homework to.

Nour Sarhan the "Ghost Stories" album as a whole was a dreamy experience for me. Although my favorite album from Coldplay is AROBTTH, Ghost Stories spoke to me in a way which I simply can't describe; Songs like Midnight, Ocean, True Love and O among others, still linger in the deepest corners of my soul.

YES!!! I love that Violet Hill is your #1! That's probably my favorite Coldplay song too! In fact, Viva La Vida is one of my favorite albums in general. I know people rat on Coldplay pretty often (especially recently with them going more pop), but I'm still a fan pretty much no matter what they put out. Not to mention, their transition to pop is better than some other bands who'll go unmentioned, Maroon 5.

Violet Hill is a song that I really appreciate, even though it might not be my favourite Colplay song. It holds a special place for me because it was one of the songs that I played on my mobile when I was on a trip at the end of high school. Being on a 12-hour trip, sitting on a bus at night and failing to fall asleep, just looking at the sky through the window with Violet Hill playing. While listening to it I felt gloomy but soothing vibes that really got on well with the whole trip, and though I was there with my friends, I probably was more worried about the music😅. Everytime I listen to Violet Hill, memories from that trip just cross my mind, so I guess it's really a special song for me.

Maroon 5. Their first 4 big singles were and are really good. They totally lost me after that. Not sure why they are still so huge? I consider their songs rather boring than bad. Coldplay pop is difficult for me. I tried. But they got a huge catalogue of great songs including early songs and b-sides. So I will have them on rotation no matter if I like their newer stuff or not.

Ghost Stories is probably my favorite Coldplay record, just because it was so simple and stripped down at many places. Albums like Viva la Vida and Mylo Xyloto are also amazing of coursd, but Ghost Stories has such an unique and own sound to it, that really sticks out of their discography.

i love love love your passion towards what is, in my opinion, the best band in the world. the lack of appreciation coldplay has honestly surprises me. their music is so complex yet so simple, music i feel anyone can love, if they just gave it a chance. i fell in love with them back in middle school, and the feeling has only grown and flourished since then. my passion for them will always, always be there, and finding others who share the same passion absolutely warms and excites my heart; though i wish i had more people in my life that did. seeing them live for the ahfod tour was unreal and magical. i felt more alive than i ever had, and honestly even listening to certain songs have me feeling the same way. their music is just so special and unmatched imo. thank you for sharing the appreciation and passionate opinions you have towards them and their music, they are truly deserving of it.

Coldplay is one of my favourite bands of all time and I love a lot of songs so much that I can't even begin to think of a ranking, but definitely Viva la Vida is my favourite song not only from Coldplay, is my favourite song ever. I know, so original, but omg this song transmits something to me that i cannot explain, gives me energy, strenght and calmness in any situation where i need it. There are many others i love so much tho, like shiver, every teardrop, clocks, yellow, fix you, god put a smile... etc. I love your list because there are many songs in coldplay's catalog that i don't know/pay much atenttion and you gave me new songs to explore. X&Y will forever be my favorite album. My not have my favorite of all time songs, but as an album, it is littered with amazing singles and the entirety of it flows so well and has such killer songs like Square One and Kingdom Come. The space rock is something we probably won't ever hear from them again. Also shout out to another space them, "Alien" from more recent years.

Wow, Violet Hill as number one? I'm intriguied by that. I've always considered it my least favourtie track off Viva La Vida, but now I am compelled to try and appreciate it differently. Because Viva La Vida is my favourtie Coldplay album too, if I could end up loving my least favourtie track from it, then it would just be elevated even higher. Really love your reviews.

I needed this list today, thank you!❤ Been going through a rough time lately, and Coldplay always manages to cheer me up! They been my favorite band for many years now, and they always blow my mind with every release. Saw them live in the summer of 2017 and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It's hard to pick a top 10 or top 20, they've got an insane discography. I think my favorite has to be Fix You, truly one of the greatest songs ever. One of my absolute favorite Coldplay songs that is also extremely underrated is Strawberry Swing. It's just so beautiful and brings on so many emotions. But the whole viva la Vida or death and all his friends album is phenomenal. Their best work in my opinion

I can't make a list yet, but I can talk about my favorites. The Scientist and Fix You used to secure the top for a long time with their magnificent sounds and emotional lyrics. Then I heard 2 particular tracks that caught my ear even more. Today Violet Hill and Shiver are tied for the top spot! Violet Hill sounds awesome, especially with that hypnotizing guitar and the atmosphere that makes me feel like I'm in a snow storm! I love the lyrics, they seem half love song, half political. Shiver sounds so comforting (a big reason for why I love so many Coldplay songs) yet desperate at the same time; it also fits in with that core, irresistible Parachutes sound. While I like Jon's interpretation of the lyrics, I see them describing a desperate, hopeless romantic (probably because I've felt like that before). "You know how much I need you, but you never even see me, do you?"

Great Video! It's interesting because most of these songs wouldn't make it onto my top 20, but hey, opinions. If I had to say my top 20 off the top of my head, I'd go with: 1. O (Fly On) 2. Also I think A Whipser, and "O" are easily their most underrated songs.

@@iliketrains3495 Yeah, A Whisper is amazing. Most people I've heard from seem to think it's one of the weaker tracks, but idk why. It's one of those songs that immediately opens sounding big and cheery, almost like a parade or something. I love the transition around the halfway point ("night turns to day"). Also the atmosphere is amazing and very hard to describe. It's very mysterious kind of dreamy, especially during the last 30 seconds or so. The guess the guitars are kind of repetitive, but it's not enough to bother me.

For me, the most underrated Coldplay song ever is Ghost Story from the Sky Full of Stars EP. That song just gets me at another level. The opening soft shaker and guitar combo is hauntingly beautiful and then when it kicks in at the chorus it just overwhelmes me.

My favorite song by them is probably ”Talk” and I remember seeing the video too back in 2005. Other favorites for me are ”Magic”, ”Shiver”, ”Clocks” and ”Viva la Vida”. Actually the year 2005 was also really important for me since I discovered Foo Fighters and turned into rock music after I heard their song ”Resolve”.
