In the context of spaceflight, a satellite is an object that has been intentionally placed into orbit. These objects are called artificial satellites to distinguish them from natural satellites such as Earth's Moon. On 4 October 1957 the Soviet Union launched the world's first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1.
A launch vehicle is a rocket that places a satellite into orbit. Usually, it lifts off from a launch pad on land. Some are launched at sea from a submarine or a mobile maritime platform, or aboard a plane (see air launch to orbit).
Thank you for the support guys.

@KarKris HD only Ukraine and on a smaller scale Belarus (mostly electronics) had space parts production facilities, besides Russia. Kazakhstan was the place where Russians chose to build one of the spaceports, and that's the only contribution. The rest of the former Soviet nations has nothing to do with space, even within the USSR. Moreover, both Ukrainian and Belarusian participation was purely political and not necessity - Russia has easily replaced all Ukrainian parts, while Belarusian are still purchased out of the economic support, and can be replaced tomorrow if need be.

This title can be somewhat misleading: this is a list of total satellite launches per country not a list of operational satellites at any point in time. Majority of them are now defunct.

Two worthy mentions from China: 1.The first country to land equipment on the back of moon and transmitting data from there 2. The only country that has a Satellite Navigation System(Beidou) that can be parallel to GPS of USA in terms of global coverage and preciseness.

You missed one point, the last thing which is worthy to mention is that: We got rejected from the international space station in 1988 by the USA and we are forbidden to reach any facilities in NASA since 2011, but we still managed to explore the space with our own efforts~
