Germany is a technologically advanced powerhouse. Apart from US, it had consistent and solid growth no matter what the external conditions. Hats off to the amazing country 🇩🇪

It is surrounded by other wealthy nations. Of course it has a large export/import segment of the economy. When you're surrounded by ice and water like the USA, you mostly do stuff internally. Not that this is a bad thing, both have advantages, for instance it is very hard for the USA to import a recession or to be harmed by trade wars/tarrifs because it's companies aren't affected by whether foreign peoples will buy their products. Mostly this is geography though, not economics.

China benefited from the 2008 economic crisis because of their locked national market(for foreign companies) , cheap labour, state owned companies and thus cheap goods they can export wherever they want because of western free market values while all or most other countries in the world were struck badly from the 2008 economic crisis and are still recovering from that crisis, especially european countries. Not China's power. China's economic system has the risk to fall a part sometime in the future and create a huge international crisis, thats why China is buying countries all over the world at the moment, to have a type of secruity.
