Yeah I got back into Yugioh last year through Duel Links and watching the Ark V anime. There is an overwhelming amount of new cards since the GX era, a lot of the older decks have had continuess support to make them Viable in Modern Day Yugioh. I suppose the newer Decks do make you feel pretty clever once you figure them out. I personally chose Frightfur and Raid Raptur, not decks I have had experience with but I'm familiar with them in regards to the newer stuff, very good decks.

Wait for the brave engine to drop. Crusadia is so good with brave token. It makes your deck better when going first and you have more monsters to use for the OTK when breaking boards. Brave Crusadia with Kaijus is a scary deck

I can’t wait to see how the meta shapes up. I just hope Konami makes the new season pass last shorter, ups the rewards, expand solo mode, or will at least consistently have special events like in duel links that gives out gems. Since it seems like most people will only be able to build 1-3 decks. Then they need to wait or whale a bit before they can build another. So if Konami doesn’t increase gems overall long term it would honestly be better to just have a new account for each major format change like in duel links. Especially considering how generous the start is getting you 12-15k gems within your first day of play if you 100% the story and play some rank. I’m pretty sure Konami knows this which is why deleting your account locks you out of Master Duel on that device instead of letting you restart. Still that just sets an account limit to how many devices you own.

A bit of a fringe pick, but Phantasm Spiral's always been one of my favorite decks, and it's taken me to plat even if it's a rogue strategy at best. I just find it fun playing a unique deck that doesn't really use monster effects, and it's easy to play.

Dragonmaids here, its decent, the main line is to open up the field and OTK. They're very good at rebuilding the board, but it suffers from early negations that prevent the return of nurse. The main point is definitely their big atk and how easy is to get a big dragon into the field, but it cant really negate or remove backrow. The deck also suffers from flodgates such as "there can be only one", Skill Drain, Winda or Wind Statue. TCBOO and SD hurts the most, but if you time your specials, Winda can be outed and Parlor is wind, so not much harm there. Im trying a Aleister mix now for that big Mechaba or a Purgatrio finish, but games are either you go with Aleister and the little dragons get left behind, or the dragons get a nice board and you dont have opportunities to normal summon the Aleister.

I literally had to board in all the backrow removal in existence because the ladder is basically Eldlich floodgate spam. I'm basically playing all the handtraps and backrow removal, and the dragonmaid core is so streamlined, i barely get to see it or I get fucked out of existence.

@@bigfriki I get what you're saying but TCG banlist was created because TCG having cards 3 months later (and for some cards 1 or 2 years later...) Would make that confusing (like how they banned lunalight tiger just before it would have became tier 1 with the new raidraptor link in TCG), and players are different so the banlist is different. But yeah sometimes I wish we were in OCG and it is what I like about master duel

I feel despite it being particularly linear, Subterror is a great deck to pick up once you actually start learning the fundamentals of the game better, and there's a lot of techs you can run in the deck besides just the standard Guru Control monster lineup. Umastrix being able to banish monsters is pretty powerful, Voltelluric provides Subterror with access to Colossus, and Warrior is quite a potent OTK enabler given certain circumstances. I don't recommend this as a starting deck though, as it is very expensive to craft, but give it a try if you're looking for another Stun deck to challenge yourself with.

@@BlackBeartic229 The biggest issue is just that a lot of the really fun stuff you want to do requires 2-card openings, which aren't always consistent, but they can be very fun to try out. Something like Fiendess + Hidden City, search Phospoglacier, summon it off Fiendess eff to send Harp Horror (or any monster for that matter) to grave, etc. Otherwise, Guru set 4 pass is always there if you need it 😏

@@KuruptGamingPS It's an ftk deck, so it's not exactly the most riveting experience for a new player I would say. Going second you get screwed quite a bit, but going first you have a very decent chance of just winning the duel on the spot. If you are still interested, sure, I can give you my deck list. Haven't played too much but I am in Plat 3 with it currently. Also, I forgot to mention, I built the deck without spending any money on the game.

i am one of those people who didn't check what to avoid and just makes newbie mistake, i just randomly buy some secret pack and just try make a functional deck, ended up with a sorta similar D/D/D deck like that has been shown here since i dont have enough cards for any other archetypes (didn't craft any archetype cards). I am an old returnee player who stopped since synchro (so can be considered quite a beginner) and found the D/D/D i made to be extremely complicated, but really good as a training material for its high learning curve. i kind of be able to use it because i'm a returnee, but from my experience this deck is definitely not for beginners since i can barely combo to triple special summon fusion, synchro, and xyz at the same turn because i went a bit pendulum heavy to alleviate the difficulty of chaining all of the combos, most of your combos can be easily ruined by simply messing up the order since the decks shows too many possible combo routes and branch lines that some of the times actually cancel each other out (i have my fair share of shooting ,myself in the foot). I do agree that any hand traps, flood gate, combo stopping, and destruction cards just ruin the whole combo or just ends up giving yourself an empty field, it barely has any other protections other than combo-ing all my monsters from the graveyard to the field which will be then used again to combo triple special summon fusion, synchro, and xyz monster's

With Misc at 3 and the help of the Scrap engine, Dinos are scary good in Master Duel. Their main strength in my eyes is just how little they care about going first or second. Going first, Dinos can reliably set up 6+ negates off of a variety of 2-card combos backed up by the potential protection of a Misc on the opponent’s turn, and going second they specialize in breaking boards and OTKing with truly frightening ease. They do have the downside that they can struggle against negation effects if they don’t draw outs like Droplet, DRNM, or Nibiru (or Kaijus. Remember that Dogoran is searchable by Oviraptor) and it’s possible for their combo to be almost completely shut down if some of their starters get disrupted, however they make up for it with absolutely ridiculous protection against any kind of on-field effect, solid consistency, varied combos, a fun aesthetic, and a near-guarantee that, if they’re allowed to play the game even the tiniest bit, UCT WILL eat your entire board.

Excellent video! I'm trying to decide what to play next and this video was really good to understand the actual metagame. At this moment I'm playing a DDD Deck, but a different version, with a lot of the greatest DDD monster, like Armaggedon or Kaiser. Moreover, the OCG Card DDD Zero Rage it's an amazing level up to the deck! It's a hard deck to play if you aren't used to it, but is one of the most funny and less direct deck. I really like the banlist in Master Duel, because it allows for a lot of deck variety. If the last couple of sets get added to the game, I think that the meta can be very diverse

It’s already diverse and it can only get better. Tcg, probably because they listened to vocal minorities, banned things that should not have been banned ever or should’ve been unbanned. So much better than tcg format, imo.

Its the lack of matches/sidecks and the fact that it's a new game what makes the game diverse. Quite a few RNG involved. Once the first issue is solved, things will get normalized and the format will solve itself, like it always happens.

Sadly, even tho I loved maxx C, it can be quite restricting, making back row deck more viable along with nib. But yeah I created a second account just to enjoy multiples decks, even if the banlist should add some card on the limited list, unban some cards, and ban the 1 of insta win cards, I think making lots of card 1 of can bring engine diversity in decks and diversity in the meta

A deck i think is not being explored nearly enough is megalith great going first can play through alot of disruption going second. block dragon being legal makes the deck insane now if baronne de fleur gets added (if its banned i wouldnt know) then the deck would on a normal hand end on 3 negates basically a board wipe 5 cards in hand and a block dragon in rotation deck is nutty

I'm currently having fun with my Witchcrafters deck. I annoyed someone so much with it, they surrendered yesterday. Imagine spending too much time punching a brick wall called Madame Verre, fusion summoning out of desperation then have that fusion monster shoved back in its room because Golem Aruru caught you swinging. It's a great punish against Synchros and Fusions, possibly even Links if you could touch em. Incredibly weak against the Magician deck tho (found out first hand). Currently, got a dragon killcount going on tho.

Couple decks to add if you aren't looking to play the TOP tier decks neccesarily but some very capable decks in their own right: Traptrix is very powerful with Sera, waiting for lord of prisons which you can search with gallant easily or you can search nibiru otherwise+ rafflesia and gravediggers are fantastic in this game. You can run 3 parallel exceed + rafflesia gravediggers in other decks to stop hand traps is u have link arrows. True Draco aren't amazing but have insane draw power with 3 card of demise 2 desires, 3 duality, 3 of each continuos spell, only 1 diagram tho and are very very cheap. Infernoble knight have smoke grenade, union carrier so might be scary but no phoenix blade might hurt haven't tested them yet. Live twin is getting its support soon (I'd hope) but it's still solid enough atm. Frogs have 1 toad which is sad but 3 grass and snow so maybe? World chalice hasn't seen play but you get most thing free and Venus is still a god normal summon so needs testing. Earth machine is decent control deck with 1 card starters and makes Zeus and Zeus is Zeus. Dinosaurs have 2 oviraptor but have you read misc? You can play dinosaurs with shaddolls/ thunder dragons/ Yang zing /true kings- make calamities... So many builds. Pure build/ scraps build etc.

Not sure if it could be considered meta since some other decks can do this deck's main win condition too (kid at locals did it against me with Spyral once upon a time) but...World chalice First off, it's not expensive with most of the deck being rares, normals and some SRs. the Extra Deck is a bit beefier but it's still not that bad and you can substitute some URs from various decklists for other lower rarity but still strong cards. Also you get a good chunk of it just by playing Solo mode AND experience with how the core of the deck works. Build it properly with venus + shine balls, World Legacy support and some nice big links to end on like appollosa, or my favourite. I.P. Masquerena>Mekk Knight Crusadia Avramax and you can set up a damn near invincible monster and a few negates turn 1, watch them try to out your board to no avail and then grind them down over the next few turns by recurring your links and comboing further. thanks pot of avarice at 3. I legit had a duel yesterday that was like, half an hour of a Striker playing trying everything from Raigeki to Afterburner, Jamming Waves and most of their extra deck to try to out Avramax and failing.

love your content man.good work.thats the problem with komMONEY even the small changes keep some decks alive despite being an old banlist,you can see stuff you normally forgot in tcg and newer archtype come with inheret goods nowadays so old ones need some card that they are banned.in my humble opinion Yes VFD for example is broken but you can play around it with traps/spells and at 1 is aight.same with electrumite and colosSUS.

As much as I love VW and play it irl (even to this day), I would not recommend building the deck in Master Duel if you are building it for specifically VFD turbo due to the uncertainty in the format. This ban list is based off of the OCG June 2021 (loosely) list so far, but I believe VFD gets banned in the very next list. If you want to play VW with or without VFD, then definitely go for it, VW is extremely fun to play. Just my opinion tho.

I would say Sky Striker + Kaiser Colosseum is FTK right out of the game lol, kagari at 1 does just a little to the deck (we have cynet universe/hercules base/avarice) and still have 2 engage + 2 anchor, insane.

Luna lights can compete end board is infinity, simorch, Apex avian, lambda, redoer and gamma in hand plus what ever else you draw not mention u only need two card to full combo and bait out hand ash, veiled doesn't stop the inflation of the combo gotta have Maxx c or gamma to stop it at the beginning after that if u hit the force strix in anyway combo is kinda over at. But we have cross out and called by yo keep us going

With no money spent i managed to make a cyber dragon deck (my favorite archetype and got to gold 3 with it), a sky striker deck (still learning how to Play it), 3/4 of a blue eyes because for some reason the game gave me almost every card i needed and now i'm trying to build an Eldlich deck but with synchro cards on the lines of jet synchron, deskbot, tuning, Herald of the arc light, borreload savage dragon and chaos ruler. Do you think that It could work or just go for the list in the video?

That's why duel links was made. It's more in touch with the anime side of things. Another thing to get into are individual stories for non-anime related archetypes. Instead of feeding us the same crap we saw in the anime already. Now people can actually play through the World Legacy lore instead of asking me. Although it only covers World Chalice, Krawlers, Mekk-Knights and Knightmares. Doesn't go into Crusadia or Orcust.

As far as my experiences go, getting from Bronze to Plat 5 is much easier than the next step to Plat 4. I got to Plat 5 under 30 games by just playing a scuffed Crusadia OTK deck. But now I'll have to actually learn a proper deck to get further.

We might not get Linkage here in the TCG soon but if they do release it in Master Duel then Striker will go for lethal everytime. It seems that Eternal decks are here with the exception of Orcust which is sad but Eternal format top decks are back so I’m happy. Got to play vs Colossus when I pilot Striker, glad to see the Mistake back and use it to deal lethal damage.

I am main Marrincess and facing Eldlitch twice in a row is pretty tiring. The first duel is even take 15 turn before I can out grind it. Second game is shorter but more annoying because of Summon Limit. But I still manage to make my opponent scoop by keep recycling Blue Slug which goes 3500 every turn on the second summon with field spell equip eff. Also will all my match against Dragonmaid.

I use D/D. I'm not that good at the game and its difficult to use but also probably the most fun when things go right and I remember using it years ago at school on a site called dueling nexus. Only lost a single game so far with Raidraptor Kali-Yuga because I screwed up my combo, not to mention the deck isn’t very intensive on crafting materials barring the extra deck but you can play with only the essentials

Honorable mention: 60 card grass decks. Snow and Grass at three, they are incredibly sacky and snow leads to all kinds of dumb and fun interactions, but it is bricky with that many cards.
