The fact that these Disney villains almost succeeded in their plans is one of the reasons why some of them are my favorites, Hell one thing that Jafar, Yzma and Hans have in common is that they both wanted to rule a kingdom so badly that they were willing to commit murder and down right high treason to do it.

Frollo's death is by far my favorite Disney Villain death. I love the irony of his last words "And he shall smite the wicked, and plunge them into the fiery pit". And I also love of the heavy symbolism they used in his death, making it look like he was falling to hell; very appropriate, given the religious themes of the film. Also if pay close attention to scene, you'll notice that the reason the gargoyle crumbled in the first place was because Frollo had cut through it partially, in his attempt to kill Quasimodo and Esmeralda. One of the many cases of a villain bringing about their own demise.
@veronicado1016 Жыл бұрын
Oh wow. I never realized that. Thanks for pointing that out. Very interesting 😊
@savvivixen8490 Жыл бұрын
Those facts are EXACTLY why I love that scene so much! The poetic justice, the self-fulfilling prophecy, the metaphors, the imagery... ^-^! It was scary to me when it first came out, while also being cathartic enough for me to keep watching to see it'll be okay for the heros. Nowadays, the more I catch, the more I REALLY appreciate the work done on and for this movie. So good...

Lady Tremaine (AKA The Stepmother) from "Cinderella" deserves an honorable mention because she tried to lock Cinderella in her room so that she wouldn't be able to try on the glass slipper like her stepsisters, and even after Cinderella was able to get out thanks to her animal friends helping her the last minute, Lady Tremaine purposely trips the Grand Duke's assistant, causing him to drop the glass slipper, which ends up shattering upon hitting the ground. But to the evil stepmother's surprise, however, Cinderella reveals that she had the other slipper immediately afterwards.

Honestly I thought top 5 (no order specifically) would be Scar, Mother Gothel, Prince John, Ernesto de la Cruz, and Hades since they actually succeeded and enjoyed their victory for years- YEARS - before the heroes came back to correct everything. Scar- he got rid of his brother who was king, his nephew who would have been his brother’s successor, essentially had Narabi as his Queen just because he took position as king, and was king for 4-5 years thinking his reign would be until his death since he didn’t know Simba was alive. Mother Gothel- she wanted to stay young and when the flower was taken away, she PARACORED the king and queens castle in her old state, stole it back, and kept it hidden for almost 2 decades. She probably would have kept it going on for much much longer until Rapunzel herself gets old if Flynn never found the tower. Prince John- This is from Disney’s Robin Hood so I can get how it’s overlooked since it’s not a super popular movie or fan favorite but since they mentioned Black Caldron which Disney hated cause it was a failure, then why not Robin Hood? He was the lion who wanted to be richer than the king before him (his brother), and any other king that had existed because being rich means your powerful. Again, he got what he wanted cause he was king of all of England and super wealthy for years. He only failed cause of his pride and wanting revenge on Robin Hood cause he won in Nottingham. Even though Prince John had all of England making him rich beyond belief with how badly he taxed everyone so he was more than fine losing Nottingham, not like it hit his pockets or anything, he was just being petty and couldn’t stand losing. Ernesto de la Cruz- he wanted to be famous so he did. He killed his best friend, made it an accident and no one even suspected foul play yet alone thought he was involved, was the most loved celebrity in life AND then again IN DEATH as a bonus. He enjoyed being famous, never working, partying, being worshipped, and everyone being just as obsessed with him as he is with himself. He won both in life and death for DECADES! He got found out and exposed on accident after enjoying lifetimes of fame. Hades- he wanted to rule Olympus and only way to do that was defeat the other Gods and get rid of the only successor and only one whose powerful enough to stop them. He thought Hercules was dead for years until he found out 18 years later he was alive but still killable. He didn’t kill Hercules but he did get rid of his God status for almost two decades preventing him from entering Olympus with Herc not even knowing who he was. Even after Herc found out who he was, trained, Hades was able to get rid of his God powers and actually did take over Mt Olympus for a few minutes. If Hades didn’t keep his own word in his own deal, Hercules would have never had the ability to fight back so Hades kind of undid his own plan. I was shocked Ernesto was so low on the list. Like my guy *actually succeed* scott free for years in life and in death, and was absolutely sinister about how he got there and how he planned on keeping it that way. He caught one body in life (that we know of) and technically 3 more in death!

I wouldn't say Timon and Pumbaa had much to do with Scar's downfall. They had Simba perfectly happy to continue living in the jungle with them. The real coincidence was Simba and Nala accidentally meeting. Sure, it was caused by Timon and Pumbaa being in trouble, but if Nala hadn't been the one hunting, Simba would never have gone back.
@nixda9326 Жыл бұрын
but if Timon and Pumbaa didnt find him Simba would have died in the Dessert long time ago. so yes, them saving Simba from actually dying was an important Part in the Downfall of Scar. because without that the following Events wouldnt have happened.

Jafar could have succeeded without the lamp, since his staff could cause mind control. He should have just used that to get his way from the beginning, but then the movie wouldn’t happen

His own pride still would've gotten the best of him. Not only did he want to rule a kingdom, he wanted the most MAGICAL power on the planet. He could get Agraba's throne, sure. But he still wanted the magic in order to probably prevent rebellion and keep his title. Even if he took control first, he'd still eventually go after the lamp, which will always be his downfall. In the end Jafar will always be his OWN worst enemy.

The best thing about Jafar's defeat is that Aladdin not only plays to his ego, but also plays to Jafar's lack of creativity. Aladdin's hard life forced him to learn to get creative and clever. Jafar's life of power, however, has caused Jafar to lean more on tools and other people than his own cleverness. So Aladdin knows that Jafar isn't prone to thinking outside of the box. Jafar COULD have said "I wish to be all-powerful". Instead, he says "I wish to be an all-powerful genie". That's because the genie is the only example of omnipotence that Jafar has seen thus far, and so his mind naturally jumped to that. Which is exactly what Aladdin was expecting Jafar's mind to do.

Of course Hans had to be on here instead of either John Silver or Scroop from the underrated masterpiece, Treasure Planet. For Silver, while he did finally manage to reach the legendary Loot of a Thousand Worlds, the self-destruct sequence on the titular planet that was set up by the infamous Captain Flint right before he died caused Silver to lose almost all of the treasure that he had spent his entire life searching for. And for Scroop, he almost managed to kill off Jim Hawkins while he was hanging on to the alien pirate flag when the RLS Legacy's gravity generator gets accidentally shut off by B.E.N. while he was trying to find and sabotage the plug that connects to the ship's cannon, causing both Jim and Scroop to float up. Only for Scroop to be outsmarted by Jim, making him ascend to his demise in never-ending space. But as usual, you're more worried about pandering and conforming to popular opinion than putting movies like TP that are legitimately the most deserving to be on lists like this. 😤
@DarkFr3ak101 Жыл бұрын
I never really saw John Silver as a villain but as more of as an antihero because he was more of a father figure to Jim. Plus Silver does get a happy ending, however Scroop was the worst making his death enjoyable.

22:13, McLeach should've been arrested by the rangers, or even immediately eaten by the crocodiles instead of falling over the waterfall, because his fall is NOT good enough in my opinion! If you look closely at McLeach, you can see him tucking himself into a ball as he goes down the waterfall, which is actually considered as a fairly effective way to survive a waterfall that deep without hitting any rocks at the bottom, which will also come off as unacceptable, considering that McLeach will get away with his crimes scot-free after surviving the waterfall, and he would've seriously kidnapped Cody again, but this time, it would be a house kidnapping right in the middle of the night, and the Rescue Aid Society wouldn't be able to stop McLeach in time, neither will the boy's mother, or the rangers. Not only that is the reason why I find "The Rescuers Down Under" decent in my opinion, but other reasons why I didn't like it as much are, one, the captured animals never escaped, two, the film IGNORED Cody's heartbroken mother at the end, and three, too much dark, depressing and violent scenes. To be honest, I think murdering a child is WORSE than murdering an adult, and that's the biggest reason why I wanted McLeach arrested or eaten by the crocs, and also, the death of their child is known to be every parent's worst nightmare! I'm really sorry, but I really think "Down Under" really needs a sequel, but it'll be more on the serious side as it focuses on Cody's PTSD after suffering a lot of horrendous events while kidnapped by that horrible poacher, and honestly, I'm extremely surprised that Cody never cried in the film after all those unfortunate events. Most of all, I want those captured animals rescued on-screen, and this time, no failures!

I'll argue on behalf of Gaston till the day I die. I won't pretend he wasn't an asshole, but he was no worse than the prince. In fact, if the witch hadn't cursed the prince, I believe he would have been far worse than Gaston. The only reason the prince even changed was because of Belle, who was only there to protect her father. Since Belle was able to change the prince, it stands to reason that she may have change Gaston's bad habits.

that's how I feel as well! 😱 ALSO in my opinion if he hadn't fallen off the roof to the castle then Gaston would've DEFINITELY been able to have Belle all to himself 😳
@michaelparham1328 Жыл бұрын
@@SexySkoChick This isn't canon, but it's fun to think about. In Tarzan, there's an easter egg reference to Beauty and the Beast, in the form of Jane's tea set. It's modeled after the set in Beauty and the Beast. We know this because one of the cups has a chip missing. Leading some people to theorize that Jane is an ancestor of Belle. Given the time frame, the physical similarities, the affinity for books, and choice in clothing, it's a solid theory. Some people take it a step further, suggesting Clayton is a descendant of Gaston, from an unknown relationship prior to him meeting Belle. And again, given the similarities in appearance, and personalities, it's a pretty reasonable conclusion.

The only question I had with Reck-It Ralph's logic: If a playable character suddenly stopped appearing on the character choice frame, wouldn't that already be a broken game for people? Like I'd imagine a kid who loved venellope arrived at the arcade one day to suddenly find their favorite character was no longer on screen. That be a serious confusion for the kid and the manager would definitely be called. At least for me if that happened to any of my game I'd think either my device was glitching or the server's broken.

I knew Scar was gonna be Number 1 on this list, but u forgot his mistake of gloating to Simba when he had him right where he wanted him, where he whispered to his nephew that he, not Simba, killed Mufassa. His other two mistakes were cowardly trying to shift blame onto the hyenas and not taking the merciful exile he didn't deserve when he had the chance. Had he not been so arrogant, he would have gotten rid of Simba as well at that crucial moment, and had he not tried to throw the hyenas under the bus they might have helped him after Simba threw Scar off of Pride Rock, and had he not been a sore loser he could have left and lived, even if it would have been in disgraceful exile, but that itself would have allowed Scar the opportunity to rally his forces in the Outlands, gather his followers and more to his side, and make a return for revenge and to reclaim the Pride Lands once more He did much of that in "The Lion Guard" (albeit without his lion followers) and left a lasting impact on his grandnephew, Kion

I know this list is all about Disney movies, but I would like to mention Belos from The Owl House because we was close to succeeding with his goal to wipe out all witches in the Demon Realm. The first time was back in King’s Tide when he used the draining spell for the Day of Unity. Only for King to free the Collector and he stops the draining spell and splats Belos. And the other time is in Watching and Dreaming where he possess the Titan’s heart turning into this Kaju beast and putting his goop all over the Isles. Heck, for a brief moment, he even killed Luz. But of course, Luz won and defeated Belos thanks to the power of the Titan that was given to her in the in between realm.
