I absolutely LOVE that Dalia brought up scent memory. I have a memory linked to EVERY one of the scents I own and every time I smell them out need clarity on remembering an event, I sniff the fragrance and it almost transports me there! Olfactive Time Traveling if you will! This is a great video. My father wore a lot of the cheaper scents but when I was young I used to always put this Cologne on. That's why he bought my the Pierre Cardan for him cologne and from there on, I ALWAYS had fragrances! Thanks for sharing this cool video Sebastian!👍👍

these scents RULE...new stuff is boring and 70-80s scents are in control! My dad always used original Tabac, my brother JAZZ YSL and Zino as did i, some Kouros and Lancome, and Fendi andTrussardi...in the end the 80s were incredible! If you werent around in those years u never understand what it al ment...and how cool times it was...really, walking into Lafayette or Printemps in paris and be in scent heaven...no niche all designer when scents were ART!!

Flashback. I graduated HS in the 70's and these frags were our only choices. Many of these have changed due to regulations. Antaeus was much thicker with its oakmoss and heavy castoreum but is still good. Missed a few brands I recall from the day, Dakar, Polo, Brut, Lagerfeld, Pierre Cardin and Jovan Musk Oil!

Great video! I was missing Ralph Lauren Polo in the list (well, Z-14 is similar). I'm glad Kouros was number 1! I have the vintage formula, I hope you have tried that one because the newer bottle (that you showcase in the video) is unfortunately almost a different fragrance!
@jimr8806 жыл бұрын
Great picks and a nice idea for a fragrance videos; enjoyed the team dynamics. Just a few thoughts: -Carven Vetiver (both versions) is nice, but Carven Le Vetiver is better and much more similar to the original 1950s Carven Vetiver version IMO. Try it...it's cheap (at least it was) because I picked-up a 100ml bottle on FragranceNet for about $20 back in 2015. -Aramis Havana, Brut, Old Spice, Hai Karate, Maxim's Pour Homme, Balenciago Ho Hang Club, Alfred Sung Homme, Jacques Bogart Witness and Monsieur de Givenchy (similar to Chanel Pour Monsieur) are things that come to mind when I think of colognes Dad wore. If you haven't already tried them or have them in your Scent Armory, put your nose on Maxim's Pour Homme and Balenciago Ho Hang Club...you'll thank me later. -Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet has been on my to-sniff/buy list for years...one of these days. -Chanel Pour Monsier is a great pick and definitely a gentleman's choice from this era. I've had the EDP for the past 2-3 years ( and love it) but have been wanting the EDT for a long time. Yep, I noticed the EDT is now available on chanel.com as of early December 2017. I'm waiting for my girlfriend or one of my daughters to buy it for my birthday. Yeah! -I have a 1-oz. vintage splash of Quorum and use it sparingly...may order a newer bottle, but I think I will only be disappointed. It's a gem. -I have Halston Z-14 and 1-12...can never keep them straight, until I wear them. Cheers.

I begun wearing Kouros in 1981 right when it came out. I was 21 years old, and did not show my chest hair, and had no gold chains. Me and my friends dressed GQ casual. Kouros was different than the rest. It was regarded by us as elegant, refined, classy, and very forward. The new elegance of the 80's braking away from the 70's. Hairy chests were passe`. Just look at the advertisement campaign.

Thinking about getting a bottle of Egoiste from 2010. XD, the sprayer on Guerlain .Yes, I have that issue with my L'Instant . I had a Van Cleef & Arpels , don't remember Tsar, or Pour Homme , but it reminded me of a soap from Yardely , and I can't remember that either , but the soap smelled like the soaps the used in funeral homes. I got rid of it, but I did like the smell. Now I wish I didn't . Wow , just checked. You can pick these up dead dirt cheap. Great list .Thank you
