I am from IIM Calcutta, had admission in both C and A, chose C IIM C is subjectively always the best mba college in India because of the culture, the people etc Objectively if you only care about placements then A is ever so slightly better than B and C. The difference is miniscule and doesnt justify the immense extra efforts yoy are required to put in A vis a vis B and C, but if placements is all you care about you might choose A above B and C.

@@theiimguy BITSOM, as of current trends, is on par with new IIMs like Udaipur, Trichy. Please go through the portfolio of companies visiting BITSOM. It's a different issue, if it stops performing well in the next 2-3 years, but as of now, definitely it would find a place between Top 25-30

The fact is that the companies visiting NM & SIBM Pune are on par with JBIMS, MDI & IIFT. Infact, in recent years, the company portfolio in NM & SIBM P, on an average, has become better than Bajaj. NM has built a strong portfolio of companies in FMCG, Tech, Consult, GenMan roles, IB(Mid offices started coming up, similar to MDI, IIFT). For ex: TAS started visiting NM Mumbai for 2 years straight while it skipped few of the T1 companies you mentioned. A&M added NM in it's target campus list for consulting role. SIBM P & NM has access to almost all corporate competitions. And honestly, TISS is being over-rated in rankings, at the cost of these two programs. Infact, XL Delhi should be ranked higher than TISS. No doubt, its a top notch program for HR in India, but an MBA from SIBM P or NM Mumbai will open doors to much more broader roles, versus a narrow scoped program like TISS.

If we compare JBIMS with other Top Non-IIMs apart from XLRI and SP-Jain, I would rate JB above MDI, IIFT and all other Non-IIMs. Because the ROI, Campus Location gives an upper edge

Sorry to bust your myth. Honestly, ROI concept is a farce for top MBA program. Your ROI should be for a period of 15-20 years. Not just an year after MBA.Campus life is not a differentiator at MBA level. If that's the logic you want to use, then FMS shouldn't be a top notch program, but it is. JB has lost its sheen in the recent years and the likes of MDI has caught up. JB's portfolio is on par with IIFT, SIBM P & NM Mumbai, IIM Shillong for sure. In some cases, few top roles are coming to other campuses and stopped coming to JB. It might be a hard truth to swallow, but that's the truth brother. Go through the reports yourself, see the overlap of companies(along with exclusive ones) and you will find out the truth. But yes, the lower batch size will definitely remove the unnecessary pressure that other college students go through during the placement season. JB is still a top notch program in the country without a doubt, but doesn't mean it is above MDI, IIFT etc
