@@lowfuel6089 I'm also sure it is abandoned, but apparently the developer said somewhere they are still working on it (Twitter, Tim Soret). There was a very weird scandal somehow, but that didn't make much sense to me though. The game oozes style and its theme deserves a release of something good.

Something about games such as these, they are so beautiful, the environment, the parallax scrolling and so on. They have and probably will always captured my attention. These look great! Some years ago, there was one called 'The Last Night' that was possibly the most beautiful and exciting (At least to me) side scroller ever. But since the last trailer like 7 years ago, the game and the company just went dark. I'd love to find some info on this, if there is any.

I don't understand why it's taking so long for AAA side scrolling game to be the norm in developing games and the same goes for top down genre games. Side scrolling and top down genre games deserve the same standard of games as the other genres, first person, third person and sport have always had the best standards of game development but side scrolling and top down never have. Why is it taking so long to integrate side scrolling and top down genre games as a main stream high end AAA standard of game. The only games that have made the effort and achieved a genuine current gen AAA standard is mortal combat franchise and diablo 3 and 4. That's it!? Not one shmup or open world top down or side scrolling game, best attempt is prince of Persia and cygni, I suppose its better than nothing buts it's very strange as to why developers are not producing AAA current Gen side scrolling and top down games. Over saturated with third and first person genre and sport games there's no Ballance in distribution of resources for all genres. Theres only 5, top down, side scrolling, first person, third person and sport. It would be good to have a current gen AAA game like diablo 4 with space ships and terraria with graphics like mortal combat 11. There is literally 0 current gen AAA top down or side scrolling game being developed, WHY!?. 16:13

1) If you're just looking for something that can play these games, get a Steam Deck and a dock so you can easily connect it to a TV or monitor. It has a desktop mode so you can literally use it as a regular computer. 2) The majority of these games are or will be multi-platform. Only 1/3rd say PC exclusively and that's often just because the platforms they'll be available on are announced closer to release.

Nope, you guys need to learn... These are not 2.5D games. These are 2D games with 3D graphics. 2.5D game is when there is an imitation of 3rd dimension, like in Beat'em up games: Streets of Rage, Final Fight and such. For example: Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are 2D games, because 3rd dimension is not a factor in gameplay mechanics, Tekken is a 3D game, because 3rd dimension matters in Tekken, you can just sidestep to avoid attacks. Graphics don't define games, gameplay mechanics define the game.
