I personally like Ollie, the evil blue ranger from Cosmic Fury. He's brainwashed like Tommy was, but I love how Zedd is his mentor and Ollie's many bad qualities are brought out full force by Zedd. One of the coolest looking evil ranger suits, too.

This might just be my favorite “villain sets up their own defeat” in all of Power Rangers. Zedd takes an active interest in making sure Ollie stays evil. If Zedd can convince Ollie to see life his way, then it won’t matter if his friends break the spell - he’ll be beyond saving. But once Ollie is saved, the teachings linger. Good-again Ollie doesn’t agree with how Zedd sees the world, but he does understand it. He uses that to his advantage in the final confrontation, negotiating with Zedd and ultimately persuading him to surrender.

@@katherinelynch4193 That was an awesome analysis, I hadn't thought of it that way. I love how the whole thing is a nod to that final Zedd episode from MMPR where he targets the Blue Ranger for brainwashing, and how Ollie had been previously brainwashed by Zedd in Dino Fury. I'm guessing he targets Blue because they're typically geniuses, ripe for being molded into evil masterminds. They probably also make great generals, as we saw with the way Ollie delegated his troops to individual tasks right before a battle. But you're right, picking the genius of the team and teaching him the ways of evil is probably one of the most self-destructive things an evil leader could do. I'd like to think Zedd, in his arrogance, was aware of the risk but felt like he'd always have it under control somehow because, well, he's Lord Zedd.

Astronema tries to defect when she learns the truth about her past, but is captured and put under intense power-of-love-proof mind control. Dark Specter prioritized “keep her evil” over “keep her loyal”, and as she falls deeper into darkness, she sets in motion the events that get him killed and she usurps his throne. Zedd seems to have learned from that with Ollie, seeing how his loyalty is absolute until the triceratops statue explodes. Once Ollie is de-brainwashed, he buys time for himself, Mucus, and Slyther by pretending he’s still evil. It’s an appeal to Zedd’s ego. “So what if the magical artifact that kept the spell going is gone? You’re Lord Zedd, the most powerful force of evil to ever live! Why would that be enough to get me to change sides?” Again, that’s Ollie’s greatest weapon in the final confrontation: the fact that he understands how Zedd sees the world.

Top 10 times the Power Rangers had to team up with the bad guys. -this can include times where it was a genuine collaboration, or a with the bad guys obviously planning a betrayal in the end. In order to qualify, the Rangers have to team up with an evil ally at the time of the team-up; if the collaboration occurs while the character is on the side of good, it doesn’t qualify. 1. Maya and Loyax: Maya is hurt and can’t move, Loyax is blinded, both have to help each other get out of a cave before going back to business as usual. 2. Power Rangers Time Force, Wild Force, and Ransik and Nadira. The two teams get help from Ransik and Nadira to fight Mut-orgs, born from Ransik’s DNA. In the end, they’re destroyed, and Ransik is cured of his affliction. 3. MMPR and TMNT team up with the Shredder - Boom Studio Comics 4. Adam, Rita and Lord Zedd. King Mondo has turned the Rangers (and others) into Movie Monsters. Rita and Zedd, who have a grudge of their own against the Machine Empire, tell Adam how to break the spell. 5. Power Rangers Wild Force, Toxica and Jindrax. The Rangers have to fight the resurrected Retinax, Nayzor, and Mandilok while Jindrax and Toxica rescue the captured Princess Shayla. 6. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue and Diabolico. At the end when Carter is about to get dragged down into the abyss with the queen, Diabolico frees Carter and drags the queen down with him as the Rangers seal the tomb. 7. Power Rangers Dino Thunder and Trent. This is kind of a gray area; a meteorite crashes and affects everyone with the inverse of their personality (Conner is a brainiac, Ethan is cool, etc). Trent, who is evil due to the influence of the white Dino gem, is turned good due to the influence of the meteorite, and helps the Rangers. 8. Power Rangers Mystic Force and Koragg. After the Dark Wish, a wounded and magicless Koragg tells the Rangers to find the Tribunal and lends them Catastros to get there. I’m sure there’s more but this is all I can remember off hand

Nah, it's more like selling your body and soul to a demon for the power to protect others, only for it to corrupt you when the job is done. The wolf mask and Dark Predazords gave him power at the cost of himself. The real Jeckyl and Hyde would be Trent and the White Drago Gem. At least until Trent gave into the corruption allowing the evil white ranger to reach his potential. If not for Zeltrax trying to sow deceit between Mesogog and Trent, Trent would've stayed evil.

He has been living w a jeckyl n Hyde mesogog probably his whole life .he went into mesogog lair bc he wanted to know why there's a portal. .he was forced to put on the Morpher causing him to go evil . If that weren't enough he was horribly mistreated by Connor whose quick to accuse him of being a traitor. I mean keeping mesogogs secret yes that I understand. But you can't blame Trent for something that wasn't his fault. He didnt ask to become a ranger let alone evil

Honourable Mention should be Heckyl from Dino Charge - A guardian of the Dark Energem on Sentai 6, corrupted by said Dark Energem to share a body and split personality with Snide, fought alongside the villains against the Dino Charge Rangers before being purified of Snide (and thus the Dark Energem's influence) before eventually becoming Dino Charge Dark Ranger (teased as "Talon Ranger" in the toyline via hacked sound effects), first appeared as such in Boom Studios Issue 35, then eventually joining the fight alongside Dino Fury/Cosmic Fury Rangers as a double agent within Zedd's ranks.

Honorable mention to the white ape that transformed into the rangers, that episode was fun. In the turbo movie Kimberly and Jason were temporarily evil under a spell until the rangers defeated the villains breaking them from control. It was probably the most tame instance to be in the list though.

To correct your oversight: Tommy's Green Ranger should have been 2, A Squad 3, and Psycho Rangers 4. Tommy is just more successful then the others. The Psychos were just monsters in Ranger form. The A Squad were actual rangers who changed sides by choice. That's just a better ordering.

Same, but it's easier for them to source scenes and clips from Power Rangers without incurring legal liabilities as there is a relatively narrow band of Sentai with official licensed subs (Shout Factory with Fiveman through Dekaranger on DVD, Jetman to Hurricaneger on streaming) that WM could pull clips from as other than that range of seasons (1990-2005 on DVD, 1991-2004 on streaming) the only way to watch the shows is with fansubs and those are a legal minefield a company like WM do *not* want to step on!

That’s honestly what makes Evil Ollie my favorite. Ollie’s whole character arc is about learning to understand other people’s points of view. Then in the finale, he proves he understands Zedd’s perspective on life better than Zedd himself does, which gets his evil mentor to surrender.

Watchmojo, for your info, Zen Aku is not an evil Power Ranger as he is not a ranger from the start in Wild Force. He is a Duke Org. Not an Evil Ranger.

Zen-Aku is possessing the body of Merrick who was one of the original 6 Animarium Warriors (precursor to Wild Force) and later Lunar Wolf Ranger once freed of Zen-Aku's influence. So really it's about Merrick during his time under Zen-Aku's control before redemption as a Ranger. Leanbow wasn't a Ranger until after he was purified from being Koragg under The Master's influence, yet is on the list too. And there is still debate in the fandom if Leanbow as the Wolf Warrior counts as a Ranger or Ranger-like Ally (keep in mind we *never* see the Phantom Ranger from Turbo/Space unmorphed until his backstory is revealed in the comics).
