Squadron 42 is NOT on Unreal Engine 5.... it's actually on CIG's OWN bespoke engine, called StarEngine.... and Unreal Engine couldn't cope with the level of entities going on in that game... Good to see the growing positive coverage even trailers on SQ42 though 🙂

I watched the video and it felt like a movie trailer. The sheer scale and epic battles, i was blown away. Like to see Hollywood do better. Even Battlefield Earth with a big budget could not manage the same scale and epicenes. You really need to do your research a little better. Squadron 42 is made on its own engine developed by the company. Starengine! The game star citizen is also developed on this engine. Unreal engine isn't capable of doing what these two games are doing.It's two out of date..😅 It's also scheduled for release, sometime in 2026.

Looking at some of the comments makes me giggle. The first vid is Star Citizen's campaign game mode called Squadron 42. Everything you see there are actual in-game graphics. Everything. Furthermore, all of the ships, minus the gigantic Vaduul capital ships, are all purchasable, including many of the Vanduul fighters shown. The game does require a high-end PC to enjoy the full effects. But yes, Star Citizen is no ordinary game. It is a revolution in the gaming industry.

@wolfpaw-yz9fk, I think that the game "Exodus" from Archetype Entertainment will be worthy of Mass Effect. Since the old team, including Drew Karpyshyn, are working on it. Even Matthew McConaughey was invited to voice over. The atmosphere of the game itself is somewhat similar to the legendary Mass Effect. Watch the video from them and evaluate. Because, unfortunately, you shouldn't expect any breakthrough from Bioware, I'm disappointed in them. But there is hope for the guys who once created the trilogy themselves

Unglaublich wunderschön aber solche Spiele haben eine mindest Produktionszeit von 5 Jahren. Auch wenn die unreal engine 5(.) die Wartezeiten etwas verkürzt aber man hat uns jetzt wirklich lange hingehalten und Corona😮 die Schuld in die Schuhe geschoben. There a few glitches in the whole clip even the one that was not played and recorded at Citizencon, like one of the officers face changes from old version to a new one on one of the ships and back and forth. Since it's the prologue for the game it seems to be a rough version they showed.

that's because the "cut-scene" is occurring in-game in real time and if you were actually at the locations of the actors, you would be able to see the scene unfold, it is not a canned video or cinematic.

los juegos en unreal engine son una basura en terminos de optimización. Sin embargo, otros juegos como SQ42, el primero del vídeo, obviamente no corre en UE5, ya que UE5 sería incapaz de renderizar a esas escalas, si no que corre en StarEngiine que está mucho más optimizado y sí podrás jugarlo con el PC que indicas.

the video for Squadron 42 is not CGI, it is actually occurring in-engine in real-time and if you were to go to the locations show in the scenes you would be able to watch them unfold within the game. it's the reason their tech is so impressive and has also taken a long time to develop.
