Regarding Hans and Leia: in a deleted scene Hans ends the kiss and Leia says “Ok hotshot” and kisses him again. That’s why their arms are around each other in the final shot. I wish they would had included this in the final version!

My favourite is the kiss between Keith and Watts in Some Kind of Wonderful. It sneaks up on you as Watts clearly loves her best friend but is solidly in the "friend zone". The timing is terrible as Keith is about to go on his date with the near legendary Amanda Jones but that first kiss plants the seed that his dream girl has been in front of him all along.

Better to do a Most Unexpected Kisses in tv series. That's where I usually find myself thinking "well I didn't see THAT coming!" As many others have commented, in a romance movie the inevitable kiss is expected. I agree with the person who posted the Moonstruck kiss. That should've been no.1 - if you don't know what it's about going in (which I didn't my first time) then it's a bit of a 🤨 moment (well the whole scene really. I won't post any spoilers - just watch it)

my favorite kiss of all is between Four and Tris in Divergent. it wasn't supposed to happen but Theo said the timing was right and they just rolled with it. they are also my favorite onscreen couple of all time. I also loved the Jurassic World kiss between Owen and Claire!

True opposites attract richman (handsome Richard Armitage - playing textile tycoon Mr Thornton) that was once a poor man meets blue blooded poor girl, Miss Margaret Hale. Or any kiss between the greatest couple in literature, Mr. Darcy and Miss ctrl Elizabeth Bennett... finally.... the amazing kiss between Brad Pitt's Achilles & captured priestess Brieseis. Like: 1) Monster ball > Halle Berry and Billy Bob (he’s prejudice and she’s black) 2) The jungle cruise > Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson (they show no interest during most of this movie) 3) Out of Sight > Jlo and George Clooney (she’s a cop he’s a criminal) 4) Wicker Park > Matt and Alex (He already knew Alex was faking being Lisa and still they kiss) 5) Silver lining playbook > Pat and Tiffany (throughout 99% of the movie Pat tries so hard to get back with his cheating wife) 6) Twilight Saga: Eclipse > Bella and Jacob ( in every movie Bella claims that Edward is her true love and then unexpectedly she ask Jacob to kiss her) 7) Taking Lives > Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke (she’s a cop he’s supposedly a victim the case is over and they part their separate ways. Afterwards and unexpectedly he appears at her door in her hotel room)

I like your number one pick. It was a great kiss in a very good movie; way better, I think, than the original Princess Diaries. But you missed my favorite unexpected movie kiss of all time. There are some good ones on your list, but mine isn't there. In Murphy's Romance (1985), Sally Field plays Emma Moriarity, a woman in her early 30s, recently divorced and caring for her preteen son. She moves onto a dilapidated ranch outside a very small town, looking to board horses and make a new start. James Garner plays Murphy Jones, widower and town pharmacist. He had all but given up on life when his wife died, but was starting to get his shit back together when they meet. There is a substantial age gap, but they start as friends. Well, at first he is more of a father figure than a friend, but their relationship blossoms over the course of the film. It's only at the very last that he kisses her clueless mouth and throws her out of his store. She stands there with a WTH look on her face while the audience in the theater cheers. Loudly! It's a favorite movie for my wife and I, even though she doesn't care for romantic movies. I do, and this is one of the best.

Leia was absolutely into the kiss. She was resistant, due to her position, and his past, but she wanted him. The idea that it was some sort of assault, is ridiculous. Their bickering is the same tension, that is displayed as evidence of attraction, in the other examples. Leia also confesses her love for Han in that movie, so...I believe you guys are quite wrong about that one. It was expected and anticipated by all the adults. I wanted her to be with Luke, and was a bit disgusted. 🤣 Until the next movie’s revelations. 😳😁🤗😆

Emily Blunt improved that kiss to Tom Cruise in Edge Of Tomorrow. There was literally only one take of this spontaneity and it wound up in the movie. The director never ended to use it, but it a spontaneous moment of his own in the editing bay, he threw it in as an experiment and realized that was what the scene was missing. I always like to watch Tom's face in that moment because he doesn't know it's coming. Good instincts on Emily Blunt. It really works his she does it as the character. It's so forceful and she tears herself away just as abrupt.

Two that you missed. One was right in front of you. GWTW...although Rhett kissing Scarlett in the parlor was great, it's the clip in the beginning of your presentation that is truly the most romantic kiss in film...Rhett & Scarlett on the road to Tara. He gets her down from the horse buggy, and kisses her. Also, in the movie Once Around Holly hunter's sister had a secret love for a guy she didn't marry. He loves her and comes to her backyard after she is married. There they share a romantic kiss that is Never mentioned but is one of the best in cinema hx.
