This was a challenging topic. I love the smell and concept of conifers. I love the smell of pine forests and shrubs. It has just been difficult to find scents that do justice to nature/natural settings. I will enjoy sampling these scents. I have only sampled Penhaligon's, the IA's, and the Serge Lutens. I think I have smelled Ecstacy but can't be sure. I always learn a ton from your lists. Have a Great Day!

I love how, of course, you and Jessica have differing perceptions on fragrance and I almost laughed out loud when it came to Fille en Aiguilles - It was killing you for her to put it half way down the list! But, its fun to see these kinds of videos...Although - I am a bit more like you Sebastian, in that I prefer the darker, heavier fragrances and could live without a lot of the lighter, fresher scents...But, I get where Jessica is coming from with many of them - I think many people would feel more like she does...Anyway, great video guys! xoxo

This scent profile reminds me so much of my dad, it's just this truly classic scent from yonder years. One particular scent that reminds me of my dad is IA's Cape Heartache.

Serge Luten's Bapteme De Feu was my first full bottle niche fragrance, so I share that in common with Jessica, though she doesn't reveal which Serge Luten was her first. When I won the full bottle giveaway last year, I chose Saint from Atelier Oblique but they sent me a sample of Moon Sigh with it and it's SO nice. I think it is fantastic.

My favorite pine scents come from Juniper Ridge. I love their Coastal Pine perfume and the Christmas Fir scent that comes out around November/December. It’s just like a freshly cut Christmas tree.

I was kinda surprised that, no Pineward perfume in the list. All of their fragrances just reminds me of PINE. the forest, the resin, the green, the breeze, the night pine forest and so many stories around Pine. Surely some in this list I really need to try 😉

I picked up Hinoki in Hinoki and it is indeed the best Hinoki I’ve tried. Not thrilled with the performance, but 4 hours of Hinoki is better than in my other frags where it always seems to burn away quickly. Dry down is very quiet cedar. Clean but not very noticeable. Love the scent, particularly the sparkly pepper she used, but performance is intimate for sure.

I’m sick and tired of folks on YT who supposedly / claim to know about fragrance and all they really know about are the latest clones of BR540 / Aventus etc etc . Most of these people have never smelt fragrances like these from proper interesting fragrance houses Serge Lutens L’Artisan etc etc . I love this list! I definitely recommend you to try El Cosmico which is a scent commissioned by a Hotel in Texas and made to smell like desert shrubs. Very artistic yet wearable 👌

Idyllwild the one for me! Interesting layering combo with Forest Lungs. 🌲 Sotd yesterday was Esencia edt, and eventhough it's more of a sour juniper, it could easily be on here too. That one layers well with...get this...Tommy T! A pine-fresh clementine from the early 2000s.

Vert D’encens is still my favorite pine forward fragrance. Arso by Profumum Roma is also excellent. I recently picked up a full-line sampler from a small indie house named Pineward Perfumes and they have some excellent fragrances, Ponderosa is a great gourmand-y pine (think Cape Heartache), Gristmill might be the sexiest smokey woody fragrance I’ve smelled (think Fille en Aiguilles). A house worth exploring.

@@filippomearelli9445 I did really like Bindebole that’s a true/photorealistic forest scent. Murkwood was just too much, it smells like a straight up swamp. Gristmill is the one I’ve most appreciated. Hayloft was really nice too.

I love Serge Lutens Fille. Based on your talking about it for years I got a 15 ml decant. Can't wait to get a bottle. One of the things I like about it is that for a woody it doesn't over do it like most designers and niche do a woody with a wood resin type (like walking around a fresh lumber yard and pencil shavings) that most end up smelling very similar to each other. However it doesn't remind me of pine and Christmas. I wish I could find one that smelled like Pines and remind me of Christmas or that perfect tree smell.

Pine in fragrances for me are these old school man's fragrances but it can be used in a modern way. Fille en aguilles is beautiful but my favourite is Tom Ford's Vert d'encens!!

This year I’ll be wearing a lot of Profumum Roma Arso which is for me my favorite pine scent followed by Bottega Veneta pour homme parfum. Arso for me is as perfect as it gets. It’s light but persistent and dries down to a great amber incense that’s second to none. Give it a try if you haven’t already.

check out winter in manaslu by hima yomo. It is a french niche label wich wants to replicate the scent of himalaya. its a cypress and pine scent with mint and basil and anis. it smells fresh and authentic like pine with snow

You suggested me several bangers over the years (❤) as Fille en Aiguilles, Esencia by Loewe, Forest lung, Acqua di Selva by Visconti di Modrone, Aqua Brava by Puig (my fave cheapie)… After years of research in coniferous scents, I suggest you to try: Oxylus, Bindebole, Fanghorn II and Murkwood by Pineward, En and Stilla (my fave) by Svensk parfym and Wolf by Wolf Brothers. Forest by Rook is also nice. Btw I would love to sample Dasein, Slumberhouse and La Curie frag but they are really hard to find in Italy. Have a nice one. Ps Talking of “enchanted” Forest… Falling Stars on Winter solstice by Alkemia is still my fave.

Definitely an interesting list. Indeed tmo Pino Sylvestre should be on the list maybe. The bath& showergel from that brand is so piney that combines great with the frag. And offcourse Puig Aqua Brava is so great piney. Quorum also. These are cheap but not bad at all. Definitely gonna check that Lutens! Greetz.

I have done CdG Incense Zagorsk and, yes, it's really wonderful. I enjoy a bit of "evergreen," generically speaking, in a fragrance, but the moment it starts feeling Pinesol-y I'm done with it. I cannot disassociate a too penetrating piney aroma from things you clean the bathroom with. So it has to be subtle, not harsh. Zagorsk is really good this way. I find that things like oakmoss, geranium, mint, vetiver, are wonderful at dissipating the tendency of the firs/evergreens to hit the nose in an caustic way.

I know what you mean. I buy them because I find them comforting for some reason. I don't think I'd wear them in public.I just love the smell of a forest. That said, it's hard to find one that is softer and sweeter and not harsh smelling, which woudl be okay on a man, but not the comforting smell I'm looking for.

I haven't tried a lot of pine/fir scents. Of the ones I've tried, I like Cape Heartache the most. I also like the classic Aramis Devin. I recently purchased Demeter's Fraser Fir, it smells just like a sweet Cristmas tree.

I just bought the Demeter as well. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I smelled Cape Heartache over a year ago and remember liking it, but I can't remember it enough to want to "blind buy" it at this point. I may have to get their sample pack to refresh my memory. Ecstasy is a perfect winter rose scent. Something pulled together in a festive greenhouse. I love a bit of pine with a fougere but with a touch of birch tar too. I love Pine notes in a chypre. Fille is beyond gorgeous and Jessica is wrong, beyond wrong here.
