My current NaNoWriMo project is a sports romance between two lady figure skaters and honestly the fact that everyone loves Running With Lions so much is giving me hope for the future of this story! MORE QUEER SPORTS ROMANCE NEEDED. Also I can't wait for you to read Marriage of Unconvenience, it is SO CUTE and I adored it
@ThisCubed6 жыл бұрын
Enemies to lovers? Sports romance? Have you heard of All for the Game? It features both (among a myriad of triggering things that I suggest you read before going into the series) and I definitely recommend it. The first book (there's a total of three) is called The Foxhole Court and the romance is a super slow burn but definitely worth it.

I ended up adding a TON of books from this list! Thank you so much! In particular, I'm really excited to read Santa Olivia, This Kind of Epic Love Story, Running with Lions, Radio Silence, and Reign of the Fallen. It's going to be a fantastic set of reads! Just need to pick them up in my next Indigo order, alongside History if All You Left Me and Let's Talk About Love, which I'm both super excited for!

I just finished reading I Was Born For This today, and it absolutely destroyed me. Alice Oseman is fantastic in every way. A book that I think deserves more hype is The Rules and Regulations for Mediating Myths and Magic by F.T. Lukens. It's a cute little urban fantasy book with an adorable love interest and one of my favorite bi protagonists I've ever read. Like, I cried multiple times just from overwhelming feelings about the rep and the characters supporting each other. Would highly recommend!

I love Picture Us in the Light! The relationships the MC has with his family and friends are so complex and well developed and it's hopeful and heartbreaking at the same time. If you don't mind me asking, what was the book you thought was queer but wasn't? I don't wanna be fooled lol. A great under the gaydar book is If We Were Villains by M L Rio. It's a character driven thriller set at an elite Shakespeare college and, as well as the protagonist realizing he's not straight over the course of the book, there are two other main queer characters and it's really fantastic. I found the main character highly relatable as a bi person.

Where do you end up purchasing these fantastic reads??? I have trouble finding lots of the lgbtq books on my tbr at B&N. 😔 maybe amazon?
@ProblemsofaBookNerd6 жыл бұрын
courtenie I but them all over! I picked up a bunch recently from my local indie bookstore, but I do buy a lot from amazon. I would say that if it’s a budgeting thing, definitely go with amazon. But if you can, I like to buy online through indie booksellers or even through B&N online, since some other stores have the queer releases that maybe your store doesn’t!

You're not entirely spot on about Out Of The Blue. It's main character doesn't have cistic fibrosis, but the love interest does. It's also important to note that the romance isn't between the angel and the main character, because some people go into this book thinking it is (I thought so too at first).
@ProblemsofaBookNerd6 жыл бұрын
Lina C oops, sorry about that. I was so sure I had read a review that specified it was the MC. I’ll keep in mind it is actually the love interest! Thank you 😊

Oliver 92 I use it to refer to books that take place across a long stretch of time, usually multiple decades of a character’s life. Or, in the case of something like Homegoing by Yas Gyasi, a book that is set over multiple generations.

Bex Wolfe I removed it from the list entirely. Originally it was The Poppy War, which I had been told by multiple people was queer.
