Top 20 Sneaker Pickups of 2021

Another year is in the books, and what a year for sneakers it has been. 2021 continued to see the rise in popularity of New Balance, Dunks continued to dominate the market, but we also saw a flurry of very creative, well thought out and meaningful collaborations too. For this video I'm ranking my favourite twenty sneaker pickups of the year, and it wasn't an easy task. Check it out, comment down below and let me know if you agree or disagree! Enjoy!

Love my UNC Dunk lows. Idk but i felt extremely happy when i hit a raffle dub on these joints. I was on high longer as compared to hitting on both AMM 1s and 3s. The only reason i could think of was getting a raffle W is next to impossible wc made it more special. Anybody could grab the a ma manieres as long as preparations were made.

Steady list, personal favorite of mine has to be the NB 2002R in the rain cloud colorway. What a great pair. It was close with the NB&ALD 993 B&B. So comfortable and easy to style both. Keep it up! Peace ✌🏽

Hey Sean, Great comment you made about the shoe of the year needs to be more accessible to the public. I thought James Whitner did a fanatic job with how the AMM1 and AMM3 was released. Great list Sean! Personally I have Patta AM1s In the top 5. Subtle changes but love the Aqua and Monarch CWs. And I have never doubled up on a shoe before the AMM 3s but had to do it, especially for retail. To me it’s the best Jordan release since the Union 1s. Parra dunks were my dunk of the year by far too. Bacon AM90s and the olive UNDFTD AF1 were my underrated pickups this year. Was looking forward to this video Sean! Keep up the great work as always, thank you for the always accurate sizing advice and wishing you more continued success and retail cops in 2022!

As a big fan of Dunks, I have the Currys in my top 10. I think the Parra Abstract Arts are my sneaker of the year. Also, historically not a fan of Crocs but Salehe Bembury's collab was pretty unique and would be in my top 20. Easily my fav video of the year. Love it! 1’s are my favorite snkr silhouette so the AMM 1’s were my top pick up! Absolutely love wearing something with a meaningful story behind it, the quality and colorway was on point for me and the fact it was such a fair release made it easy to give it the number one. However, if 3’s were my favorite silhouette the AMM 3’s would have been my top one for the same reasons. Thank you Sean for always providing great sneaker content and are always my sizing guy lol. Great picks, Sean. Respect for you for picking the Chinese Food Dunk! Apparently vintage is the theme for this year! There basically ain’t many shoes that don’t have yellowed midsole (The only exception being the Yeezy foam runner). The fact that many hot shoes this year have deconstructed look also speaks volumes about Virgil’s impact on sneaker culture. The Off-White Two looks so special considering that Virgil must have designed it when he probably knew his finally days were coming soon, and the Two somehow has a dead-and-alive again aesthetic. Personally I look forward to more diversity in terms of design aesthetic and silhouette next year. (May the 2022 List have less Dunks and Ones PLEASE!!!)

Pretty solid list! I would definitely have put one of the orange-midsoled Yeezy 700's, and a personal favorite of mine - the NB 992 "Blue Silver Metallic", which looks so dope and so different from the other colorways

A Ma Maniere Jordans were a delight to cop and I appreciate what they did for us manual users. I was able to double up (me and my girl) for each pair. The 3's are my top pick for this year

Great list. I think I would add Beluga RF v2 to the list simply for one of the reasons you gave AMM3 the best spot. The fact one of the most iconic 350s re-released and in high quantities was awesome. I wouldn't make it a #1, but top 20 for sure. Otherwise I'd say you were spot on. Nike had a lot of great collabs, but honestly NB and Yeezy took a lot more risks doing some wild stuff that I'm 100% for.

Great list nuderles for me the nr. 1 Sneaker has to be the A ma maniere air Jordan 1as Im not a fan of the 3s at all. The color way is wonderful but the 3s not for me. Hopefully they take on the Jordan 4 next year with the design language of the a ma maniere 3. Its interesting for a while I wasn't sure about this years releases as in some communities 2021 was pretty harshly taken on and some even thought this year kinda sucked but reflecting on all the heat that dropped this statement couldn't be more off

Those Travis are mediocre and cheesy to me otherwise decent list. Def on the hype side which is fine. Don’t like the dunks all that much though the Mummy is cool. Seems like A Ma Maniere stole your heart this year. Thanks for sharing bro and Happy New Year!

I'd swap the Carpets for the Supreme dunks in a heartbeat. Not a fan of the star design, whilst the Carpets were easily the best skate brand dunk of the year (which speaks to me as a skater, and are my SOTY.) I also have monarchs over noise aqua, and much higher up the list. The Neutral Grey lows deserve some love, they're my beaters. I love the highs, but I wear the lows so much more often. Great list regardless, and looking forward to 2022 ✌

Great list. Did you say hundreds of pairs you had to go through haha wauw I only picked up 8 sneakers. At least all my favorites where on the list. I think the Parra dunks or the Travis Scott lows are my favorites. Still not there yet. 1 TS Fragments/ Parra dunks 3. Patta monarchs doubled up on those. 4 AJ manieres and 5 A ma manieres 3's and yes I like the ones more then the 3's.

I'm not gonna lie, my tastes in sneakers are probably not shared by anyone else. I appreciate how much more hype New Balance is getting, but my favorite sneaker brand is Vans. So, I understand that my opinion isn't very popular. With that being said, I think you made a great top 20 list! There are a few things I disagree with. First, I wouldn't even put the AMM3 in my top 20. Second, I prefer the Travis Scott Fragment Jordan 1 high over the lows. Third, the Yeezy NSLTD BT and Knit Rnnr Bt are both in my top 5. Fourth, I would have put the Kiwi 992s in the top 10 but maybe that's just because I really like kiwis 😅🥝. And last, my top 20 would have about 5 pairs of Vans in it. My favorite sneaker of 2021 is a Vans SK8 high collaboration with Mastermind World.

Nice picks, a lot of them are truly great. But I have to disagree, the AMM3s were not exactly available for everyone to cop, as with most of the NB releases. The only ones I consider that the consumers had a shot at were the Patta 1's. Everything else, you'd better have a show plug to cop a pair. But your 20 selections here were definitely on point. The only shoes I hit on retail were the Parra Dunks, a freak snkrs miracle haha. My AJ1 Grey's, I had to bite the resale price as it was a must cop for me.

I'm following Nightwing's lead and I'm disqualifying all the shoes that were pretty much impossible to get from my list. The A Ma Maniere Jordan 3 was absolutely not an obtainable shoe, btw. At least not outside of North America. I know more people who managed to get the Travis Scott Jordan 1 low for retail than people who managed to get the A Ma Maniere Jordan 3.

Can only speak of my personal experience, and a good chunk of people I know managed to score at least one, if not two pairs of AMM3. Which is incredible considering most can’t even get a general release Dunk from Foot Locker lol.

I mean I think it depends on the sneaker cause if u take the cool greys....this year was the first time it's been released in this form or shape since 01....how many people have been born and became sneaker enthusiast...it's honestly I new sneaker to them....now compare that to carmine 6 which it's 3 times release since 08, where the only real change was adding Nike air to make it seem more og...but still had the same quality defects of the past few release...that shouldn't be considered
