Okay, while I appreciate the squirrel girl reference, she isn’t “tough” in the conventional sense you are using for the rest of the list. If you were to substitute her with someone who is actually a part of her superhero group The Great Lake Avengers and IS super humanly tough, might I suggest Mr. Immortal. Tragic backstory and the fact that he tried to kill himself for so long and then decided to use his immortality to save others from horrible fates make him a great candidate. Plus he has to deal with the trauma of every death which he does in stride

Personally, I think Ben 10 deserved to be on this list. He might not look tough in his human form, but many of his alien forms are considered to be on that same level of toughness those characters are. His tougher forms would be Alien X, Atomix, Way Big, Rath, Humungosaur, Four Arms, and Diamondhead.

Another interesting list would be how tough characters still are when they're depowered. The Matrix sequels could have explored more what Neo is or isn't good for when he's not jacked in. In one comics version, Green Lantern is shown jumping out of a plane sans parachute with no ring and no plan, yet finds a way to live through it. In Thor's movie, he breaches the SHIELD outpost and fights his way through before he knows he can't pick up Mjolnir.
