No really a myth, but there's this combo in Tekken 3 where Yoshimitsu sits down and the screen turns black and he hovers across the screen attacking everything. Something like that. Anyways, I did it once and could never pull it off again no matter how many times I tried. Its a complicated combo. Same thing with Space Jam the game. Michael Jordan can stretch his arm like in the movie. Did that once and then never pulled it off again.

My Grandmother was and still is a intense Diablo 2 gamer and has found everything in the game you could imagine and the gem stone button actually helps with finding more gems and such to help you through the game. I mentioned this to her and she said actually it did assist in one of her runs on the hardest difficulty. Her and a friend from battlenet taught me all kinds of secrets and tricks to that game. Also the cow level was always funny as a small child to watch my grandmother play and yell "die you beefy bastard" 😂 i honestly dont remember if she said that or not but it was to funny not to say.

My battle against gaming myths peaked with Metal Gear Solid 2 when it released in November 13, 2001. I was a mod in the Game Winners forums and we were flooded with various trolls and theories about how to play as Solid Snake during the plant section. People were absolutely convinced because there was actual video of Solid Snake shown during some of the trade shows battling a harrier near the Washington Bridge and snippets of him on the plant in full sneaking suit gear. Mind you this release was right after 9/11 and if you look at the source material for the script in Document of Metal Gear Solid 2, you can read that they actually had plans to show Arsenal Gear crashing into NY among other things. I spent hours and hours debunking theories and banning trolls. People were just so desperate to not believe Hideo Kojima did a bait and switch and that it was just locked away due to 9/11 or that there was some trick to unlocking him. Even to this day.... well played Hideo..... well played indeed.

people also believed there was a cow dimension in WoW. The devs deliberately encouraged the myth by putting a tip on the loading screen that said "there is no cow level". Since the devs often put hints for upcoming content on the loading screen, people took this waaay too seriously (as they presumably intended). The real mystery here is why anyone even wanted a cow level/dimension in any game.

The madden curse is very real my friend... Odell beckam only caught 25 catches the year following his madden cover and has had team troubles ever since. Calvin johnson has his worst statistical season and missed 2 games due to injury the year his madden cover debuted. As for tom brady, he didn't win the superbowl that year so thats something 😂

you can totally prevent Aerith's death....just don't go to the Temple of the Ancients & stay on disc 1 indefinitely. There, you saved her from being murdered by Sephiroth :P also, don't forget EGM's "unlock Sonic & Tails in Melee" "prank"....a lot of fans fell for that one.

cartridge pins arent copper, they're gold and dont corrode. they do get dirty, but part of the reason why blowing into NES carts was because the front load NES would have the spring pins wear out and the moisture in your breath could cause the contact to become slightly stronger, making it look like you fixed it.

That cartridge situation reminded me of a game I had on my commodore 64 which didn't load when the TV was on. During loading screens between levels we had to shut down the TV and wait for a level to load. We knew it finished loading because light on disk drive stopped flickering. I know it's silly but it's true.

Anyone else out there think that #14 was wrong? SNES was my most favorite system ever and I’m about 100% certain that I tried to tell my self it was a myth too as a kid but then the next time a game didn’t work you tried a 100 times to get it to work. You even banged on the system and still couldn’t get it on but then you blew on it and it worked first time? I swear starting off not blowing but thinking logically to my self that all I had to do was put it in real nice and it would work. We all knew that resets didn’t do sh**. They were only good to start over a level but most messed up the game and froze it so we stuck to pressing L, R, Start, & Select at the same time to reset so we wouldn’t disturb the system. Well eventually these games just stopped working. We left them in the drawer to be forgotten. Well, one day your friend comes over and tries to start one of those forgotten games and when your game don’t start he pulls it out, blows on it, and it works first shot. You’re amazed so the next day you try iron all of them and they start to work finally! I remember down the line people telling me that it’s bad for the games so I stopped again and they also stopped playing. A week later I go back to blowing on them and playing them again. Here’s a myth I want you to try and bust that a friend taught me. It’s freakin ridiculous but I swear to god it works. Ok so, find a PS1 CD that’s scratched so deeply it won’t play at all. Then take some mayo and spread it on there with a tissue. Let it sit for 10 seconds and then rinse it off with cold water and wipe off the remaining mayo with lite pressure. Pop it in and tell me it don’t freakin work!
