The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past has aged extremely well
@arekmg00033 жыл бұрын
Not really when you really think about it. I mean sure, it still is playable and fun game, but compare to the other Zelda games...it feels outdated and really basic compared to the games that came afterwards. It doesn't have the best story, it doesn't have the best dungeons, it doesn't have the best controls, it doesn't have the best bosses, it doesn't have the best puzzles, etc...It doesn't really stand out compared to the other Zelda games we have. For a 1991 game, I can totally see why people loved this game. But compared to the other games in the series, it's...really forgettable honestly. Still playable and fun, that's for sure.
@camryjones36163 жыл бұрын
Just started playing it for the first time today! Love it!!
@makasete303 жыл бұрын
@@arekmg0003 completely disagree. It compares extremely well to others in the series, and there are very good reasons why it keeps getting added to lists of favorite games. Zelda fans often rate ALTP as one of the best Zeldas. It’s story is about as simple as BOTW, and that is the best of all the Zelda games in my view, so it doesn’t have to be a negative point as other parts of the game make up for it. It’s 2d graphics hold up well and don’t look as dated as the 3D zeldas often do. The light dark world mechanic is extremely memorable and helps it stand out among other Zelda games. The dungeons are well put together and build upon each other well and maintain a good sense of progression. The power ups are all used well in those dungeons and much better than links awakening remake, and it holds it own a against the others too which often have 1 or 2 really bad or annoying dungeons. It’s held up extremely well and as well as Zelda fans rating it highly, and I often see new comments from those who’ve played it recently on the switch and loved it.

Age of Empires 2 - So popular still that they are making official expansion packs for it and hosting tournaments Pokemon Heart Gold - This is the one game I have on my phone (emulated, but I do own a real copy) Super Mario Kart (SNES) - More skill based than the N64 version, this is one of the games I still get competive at playing vs friends Yoshi's Island (SNES) - One of the most relaxing games I can think of. I have played through this countless times as away to just unwind. The music, graphics, and gameplay are timeless Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64) - This is no other game that comes close to providing the laughs that this game does. Any time I talk to someone about clasic games this one is mentioned as the most entertaining games ever made. So may hours spent rewatching cut scenes with people, esp the Great Mighty Poo. @matt fahringer What has emulation to do with collecting? Nothing.
@Sheridantank3 жыл бұрын
@@FelixS. Emulating has nothing to do with collecting? WOW you're stupid. Ok for one, the conversation is about the prices of games first. Emulators have EVERYTHING to do with price. Collecting has everything to do with prices. Therefore emulators are related to prices. If A and B are related, and A and C are, then B and C are also connected. Collectors drive up prices. Nostalgia along with new tech and desire to play (now unaffordable) classic games drove the desire for emulators.

To say "Super Mario World" aged well would be a HUGE understatement. It was the first game I EVER played that made me want to 100% it. To do this you must find all the exits. The biggest challenge for me in this was finding the secret goal in "Cheese Bridge Area" which requires a bit of creative maneuvering since there's another goal past the first one. Getting the secret exit in said level leads to "Soda Lake". Before anyone asks, yes most of the levels in Super Mario World are food themed. SomecallmeJohnny pointed this out in his review of the game and gushed over the precise controls.

I would ask myself if witcher 3 and dead space aged well in the year 2030-2040, they're not that old. Skyrim.. eh.. kinda... would say the same.. it's not that old, but... it's one of those games I have a feeling will get a PS5 port one day cause they milk it too damn much. Don't know about crash/spyro, maybe.. I agree with emerald, too many other games that could be ahead of it tho. I really love world of warcraft which is why I'm commenting lol, I don't know what to say about that game... I only started in BFA, it's hard to say if it's aged well after playing classic/TBC/BFA/SL only... feel like most WoW subscribers would disagree, maybe not.. maybe it has aged well, cause it's still better than modern made MMO's like black desert, new world, ESO, and ashes of creation etc. My honorable mention that should have been on this list is GTA San Andreas. I don't know of another game that you could ride jet packs and lowriders.. besides GTA V later with DLCs.

@@willxowo How can you compare WoW to AoC? AoC isn't even past a very simple Alpha stage of testing systems...like what? And I played WoW back in the day, from the start up thought WotLK it was great...after Cataclysm dropped it was a turd sandwich. FFXIV is far superior in the design choices being made...and little wonder now that we know what kind of crap was going on inside Blizzard.
@willxowo3 жыл бұрын
@@ShenMerrick Yeah my bad, I know... I just saw Asmons AoC stream and I wasn't impressed, WoW technically aged very well for an MMO. My favorite MMO is Lunia, I don't think it aged very well though.. the servers shut down in 2013.. it was almost the perfect game to me.. if I could say one bad thing about it, it didn't have a jump button or any reason to, but that's not why it died. Yeah.. FFXIV is better at the moment. I love WoW, but... it doesn't feel great or rewarding when your gear becomes obsolete in so little time before you get it, including legendaries, and I feel like WoW needs more classes.. like, 2-3+ more classes at least that are good..
@ShenMerrick3 жыл бұрын
@@willxowo Well, also you have the problem with the WoW devs removing systems. They add a new system in during an expansion...only to utterly remove it at the end of the expansion, meaning it overall meant nothing to the game as a whole. FFXIV doesn't do that...so there is TONS more to do in the game because they just keep adding and adding over time. Also, WoW feels like a game that is all about reaching the endgame content and that's it, and it's by design basically. FFXIV doesn't feel that way at all, and it literally isn't that way...it's heavily designed for people to take their time and enjoy the journey, which to me is so much better than the endless chase of endgame garbage. The best way I've heard it described: "The FFXIV devs actually respect the players time."
@RisingPhoenixLily3 жыл бұрын
To think I've played the arcade version of MvC 2 in an arcade against other players where all were respectful. They always said 'GG' followed with handshakes. Back in the day, players waited in line by placing a token next to the others on the machine doing said line. I miss those days.
