Personally I would ditch the Citizen Tsuyosa in favor of the Bulova Jet Star, but these are solid picks. All the best to you & your family in 2024 and beyond. 👍

Good call on the Jet Star....with the exception that they really need to expand and improve the color choices. I really liked the concept, case, dial and hands, etc.....but I just couldn't warm up to any of the colors. That may be MY issue, but then again, Bulova isn't known for incredible style either. 😄

Lawd knows Bulova makes some ugly watches. 😆 I do like the butterscotch Jet Star, and as great as the strap may be I'd prefer to buy it on a bracelet with the strap as an add-on. I'm hoping they'll do more with that wonderful HAQ movement and make me an offer I can't refuse. Losing the chronograph seems to make the difference in shrinking the movement (vs. the Lunar Pilot which is a bit of a chonker even in its new smaller form). For DST changes and for travel, It would be great if you could move forward or back by 1 hour w/o interrupting timekeeping. The movement is a huge draw as-is, though. I may still snag that butterscotch, if I can get it for the right price.

Tissot needs to do a Heritage Edition of the mechanical watch worn by Jimmy Stewart in the 1954 movie Rear Window keeping it true by using a mechanical movement & not slapping in the Powermatic80.

I’ve purchased several watches up and down the price spectrum and the Bulova GMT in gold has been a surprise standout. Planned to buy, check it out, and sell. Instead, it will stay in my collection. Also picked up the Sideral in blue, which is a great watch too, but will go up for sale. Looking forward to 2024 and hoping Omega does something with the SMP 300M bracelet.

Some great choices on your list, many of which are on mine. I think the Yacht Master titanium is great, and probably the only watch I'd consider trading my Explorer II to get. I think part of the reason prices are so high is they just aren't making many at this time. It's definitely not a watch I've seen much of on any social media platform. Chrono24 only has 16 listed, which is an increase from a couple weeks ago. Has the Speedmaster Super Racing even come out? I've seen literally zero owner photos anywhere. This seems like the same situation we had with the colorful new Aqua Terras not really hitting the market for a year. Omega needs to stop announcing stuff before they're ready to go. I love how Tudor will release watches the same day they announce. That's absolutely brilliant. My overall favorite of the year is the Carrera Skipper, which you mentioned. I do wish it was cheaper, but I feel the new glassbox Carrera in 39mm really is worth the prices they're asking now. The pervious one maybe should have been priced about $1K lower. I'm really glad the Skipper isn't a limited edition. They've got a wait list at my AD, but I'm not in a position to buy one after my big '23 purchase. Maybe I can get one in a year or two.

Thank you Chris, no complaint from your list except the Rolex Yacht Master, it is not affordable from me. For the Chronographs, the Timex is a very good budget one. And the Omega speedmaster is the most good looking but I cannot find in their Omega Homepage. I saw one retailer sold one in a very short time. It is hard to buy.

You seem to like GMT watches. I own 60-70 watches but no GMT watches. I don't travel much so I'm not sure why anyone that doesn't travel regularly needs a GMT watch. I think I would find the extra hand confusing when taking a quick glance at the time as my eyesight isn't what it used to be.

I love traveling and have zero interest, or need for a GMT watch. I set my watch when I arrive. Shrug. The extra, skinny GMT hand always annoys me, but I think we are in the minority. People seem to love them.

I travel regularly, so a GMT makes sense. It's also nice if you live in a different timezone as your family, work with different offices, or just want to keep track of the time somewhere specific.

I purchased hydroconquest gmt because I tried it on in store and couldn’t stop thinking about how nice it was on wrist and I can’t stop wearing it. Even tho it’s not COSC certified, mine is more accurate than my Tudor Pelagos 39. If anyone is curious about it, they have to try it on. It seemed to big for my 6.75 in wrist on paper but it wears perfectly!!

My favorite new release that I picked up this year is a black dlc Tag Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph. I also picked up a yellow Tsuyosa and a lume dialed PRX quartz. I don’t like the Tsuyosa much anymore, the PRX is cool but not versatile.

I love the dial layout of the Timex chronograph but what's with the too-short hands? Timex shows longer hands on their web pages in the close-ups. Quite baffling that what they sell isn't the same thing (was it a prototype?) and it really makes the watch look cheap unfortunately. I have the blue/white Lunar Pilot and the original 45mm LP. Even though the dimensions of the newer version aren't that much smaller than the 45mm LP, the blue/white LP sure seems to wear smaller on my wrist. Maybe it's the white dial inside of a dark bezel fools the eye?
