This one hits home , Don. I begged my dad for 2 years to get an an Atari 2600 as a child. I wasn’t into Nintendo or anything else. I still have my 2600 original unit, all my games with boxes and instruction manuals. When my kids were young, I took it out to show them what video games used to be in the golden age. Still take it, and my Sega Genesis with 32x and Sega cd attachment out every once in awhile to play or test some games I find to sell. My Atari collection is not for sale! (yet).

Now that's a good youtube title. I know exactly what you're reviewing without having to watch it, and now it will show up search results when looking for "Atari" .

My brother bought an atari 410 in like 1982 I have it but it doesnt have the keyboard part just the games and books and tape player. Doesnt seem to go for much on ebay. I also have Swann Lap top from the 90s and I have not been able to find comps on that anywhere.

You would be very lucky to get these prices you get in the US here in the UK, & we have never had a games system when we were younger in our house. In-fact I never got a console till about the year 2000, & that was an old play station 1 console, we couldn't afford things like this back then. I Really enjoyed watching the video. Thank you, Don. I think 8-10 years ago, I bought a giant pile of Atari games at a GW Bins store. All junk titles. However since then I've found a whopping 1 game. Beware of counterfeits.

I think the Stacy was an ST laptop with its own pop-up screen, albeit monochrome. May have been the first GUI laptop but I’m not sure.

Yes I need help. I can’t believe that I just got a Atari game but it has the games included and I turned on my tablet to see what it’s value was if any. I picked it up at a thrift store not sure if it would work and all I know is I was addicted to the spider game but didn’t know how to make it work. I brought the unit home and asked my husband to hook it up to see if it worked. He said there were no games in the box but I thought it had games because it was new and had two joy sticks. I thought it was the same one from before but it had 90 or so games in the system and it worked! It is new and unused and the box is in excellent condition. I’m new at research and all this online selling nut I have been listening to you and others to make sure I pick the right platform and do it right. Anyway I just put that Atari back in the box and thought Imma sell it in my store. I will have to see your pst again because I didn’t think you mentioned mine but I’m sure hoping it has value. Know nothing yet going to get box from my inventory section and find out. Than you

Hi!!!! what is the website to buy atari cartridges???

Glad I never had any of those that I sold years ago. Fun video.

Soon after getting our Atari VCS, my mom picked up a set of three Atari branded game cases. These plastic and vinyl cartridge holders could store 8 games and had a pouch on the back for paperwork. Unfortunately this means that I discarded the boxes to our first 24 games purchased and one of those was Alien! I still have the cartridge and manual in one of those cases but the box was long ago tossed into the garbage. I kept all the boxes to my games since then.

Rest assured, I'm an old man, so my collection will likely be put on the market by my heirs sooner than I would like to think. I remove shrinkwrap from all my NIB purchases (saves the box from "shrinkwrap-crush" AND allows every cartridge I own to have had electricity run through it's PCB at least once). Anyway, I have more than a few rareties in my collection, but never having bought into 'grading' collectibles, none will sell for inflated prices. Knowing my family, they'll probably put the whole collection in a "Complete vintage systems, disks, cassettes, and cartridges, huge box of joysticks & peripherals $200 OBO" listing. My own worst over-spending...Spy's Demise from Penguin Software w/manual no box: $600 15 years ago. (It was too late to enter to win the T-shirt.)

I've got TWO Kaboom's sealed. That's an incredible price. I figured the games I have would go for $25 maybe. This was an interesting vid
@jmogler Жыл бұрын
Exactly. I rest my case. I bet just the people posting on this thread have a dozen sealed Kabooms between them. There is no way in the world that game goes for that much as common as it is. I own it boxed along with dozens of loose copies. It isn't just some anomaly that few sealed copies survived, it's simply too common of a game for tons of sealed copies to not be out there, as with any common title. Whoever paid that had no idea what they were doing.
@puixel Жыл бұрын
Most of the sealed games, go for more than 25 bucks, thats for sure.
@alexxbaudwhyn7572 Жыл бұрын
Tough to know if sealed is original or rewrap. Some of these prices are ridiculous. Could be shilled, bid up auctions from associated accounts either run by seller or friends. In the end, the box and manual are just easily, cheaply replicated paper prints, the cart is just plastic, and unless the cart included a special chip other than the game Rom like the pokey in ballblazer 7800 or the chip in pitfall2, the circuit board is trivial and all other roms could be burned to an eeprom for a functionally identical copy. There is value owning and using actual carts and discs on actual vintage hardware vs emulators due to unintentional design glitches in hardware or software, to ensure perfect period correct play and timing, etc Over time, software emulation always gets better, a d FPGA simulation hardware is the Way moving forward.

9:26 someone got pretty burned if he bought the Atari TT030 from the auction. I was wondering how cool is a TT030 be offered for just 450USD, but hey the colour of the case is wrong, also the ports are wrong. It is a Mega STE and not TT030...and the price is great,... for Mega STE+keyboard. TT030 are in the ballpark 1000+USD.

The Atari 400 and 800 were real, actual computers. You could also play games on them. I was an Atari ASC for the 2600 ,5200, and all of the different Atari computers, disk drives, and monitors back in the 80's. The ST series was awesome, especially since it had MIDI. I sold a lot of them to musicians.

I found a factory sealed Nintendo game about 10 years ago that at the time was one of the top ten rarest games. I wish to hell I waited to sell it until after that grading company started grading games and the prices went out of sight. I only got $600.00 for it back then and I bet today, if graded, it would buy me a house.

The glory days of Atari! I still have mine with 2 working joysticks, and 2 paddles. My mother and I loved playing Circus, Yars Revenge, and Trickshot together. Great memories! I actually have a sealed copy of Infiltrate, anyone have an idea what it's worth?

I wonder if Atari, and others, were ever sued for false advertising!!!! Much of the cover art on these old game boxes is awesome. I can imagine some kid seeing the box in Kmart or Sears and get his mom to buy it. As soon as he gets home he plugs it in to play and is presented with a blocky graphic that is supposed to be a wizard, tank, airplane, etc. Mom!!! my game is broken!!!

As a kid, I remember being confused as to what in the actual heck the elaborate cover paintings had to do with the actual game play.
@evangelinahidalgo23652 жыл бұрын
Ok Ha ha see that’s what is fun thinking you may have value for you but. I don’t have time to play. I paid less then $5 but when it worked I thought maybe $75 because it was modern. Well it sold recently for $8 and the sad thing about collector items is they made to many. Mine is Atari flashback 5 and it’s like new and says collectors addition. It doesn’t even have Pac-Man! So when you didn’t mention it I knew I didn’t have to clean my piggy bank. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I juat came across and atari 2600 promotional use only system in my grandparents attic. We owned a small grocery store here in Arkansas that also had a small video store inside it. My grandfather told me he had won this at a trade show and didnt know what to do with it. So just put it away. I know this video is 1+ years old but if anyone could help me a little I'd really appreciate it!

In what world does a sealed, common ass Kaboom!, go for a grand? Pretty sure I have that boxed along with a dozen loose copies or more. No way tons of sealed boxes aren't out there. That's like a sealed pac-man going for $1000. No way.
