I remember my dad and I watching the Rumble in the Jungle. We were both Ali fans, but with all the hype we were worried for him. We'd watched Foreman fight and knew he was a destroyer. It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen, almost like an epic movie where the hero comes back from impossible odds. We were jumping up and down and screaming Ali's name when he took big George down. One of the best moments I ever shared with my father.

Whomever thinks that liver shot did not hurt de la hoya has never been hit there before. The pain is debilitating and creeps up on you. Once i was hit so hard it splintered ribs, another time I had to take a knee, several times I layed people out with a liver shot. In almost every case the response is delayed because the pain literally begins to take your legs away. Once I was even knocked out from a liver shot. Lost conscience. Turns out trauma to the liver can cause vagal nerve stimulation causing a sudden drop in heart rate resulting in loss of consciousness. So no he was not faking it.

i have watched some documentaries, liver shots dont even depend on your will power. your body shuts down if you get hit hard enough.

I went down and was out of breath for no less than 4 minutes, without being able to even utter the words to say where it hurt to my buddies. Scary. "

Damn that 1 2 that George dealt to Moore will never get old. His own corner told him to keep away from it but he wanted to knock the old man out. Think about the pride youd get from that and the pride Foreman got out of it. Amazing stuff!

I remember the "Rope a Dope" fight as a kid; we had no idea the was Ali's plan until the end which was Amazing back when TV was FREE and big sports events were a national event and watching was FREE also. I only bought 2 PPV fights in my life and both ended quick.

A fuck load of hugging too. There's no way he would've won without the hugging. Still, it was an awesome fight.

The Tommy Morrison versus Mercer fight on here bothers the heck outta me! Morrison had his health issues that made him exhaust early. Ya gotta feel bad for the guy. The ref musta been asleep or an idiot because he let Mercer hit him several times after he was knocked out. That was sad. Obviously I’m a Morrison fan. One of boxing’s darkest days! So messed up!

As someone who boxed recreationally for 15yrs, I NEVER make fun of or laugh at someone being knocked out. You can suffer long-term effects, or worse, lose your life. But, I have to admit, the knockout where the fighter was literally still punching in his state of unconsciousness, made me chuckle. I’ve never seen that - ever!! He was literally still in the fight!!! 😅

Not having seen the rest of the Foreman-Moorer fight, I wouldn't argue the point, BUT.... When the commentator mentions that Moorer "dominated Foreman for 10 rounds", then gets dropped by a 1-2 love tap like that.....looks a lot like a dive, doesn't it?

Danny Williams with the bad shoulder boxing ONE-HANDED showed us sportsmanship, grit, definition of manhood, grin n bear it, I got a job to do here I can quit AFTER - that's the kind of athlete we want in our Olympic games representing us. To win with injury. That says so much more. It's like they have their own issue of the word "Winner" - it has a crown on top of every letter, gangsta blunt and sunglasses.
