I remember my dad and I watching the Rumble in the Jungle. We were both Ali fans, but with all the hype we were worried for him. We'd watched Foreman fight and knew he was a destroyer. It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen, almost like an epic movie where the hero comes back from impossible odds. We were jumping up and down and screaming Ali's name when he took big George down. One of the best moments I ever shared with my father.

There's a point where the ref is doing a standing count asking if the fighter is okay looks in his eyes and calls the fight and you can see instantly he grabs the fighters face like sorry but you weren't okay at all. Pretty cool moment

Whomever thinks that liver shot did not hurt de la hoya has never been hit there before. The pain is debilitating and creeps up on you. Once i was hit so hard it splintered ribs, another time I had to take a knee, several times I layed people out with a liver shot. In almost every case the response is delayed because the pain literally begins to take your legs away. Once I was even knocked out from a liver shot. Lost conscience. Turns out trauma to the liver can cause vagal nerve stimulation causing a sudden drop in heart rate resulting in loss of consciousness. So no he was not faking it.

i have watched some documentaries, liver shots dont even depend on your will power. your body shuts down if you get hit hard enough.

A good video on it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYe9k3h7ZdOrbZI And my comment on that video: "Once I was playing football and I went to defend a shot at the goal (I'm a defender) and put my hands back and twisted my body, the ball striked perfectly at the liver, a clean shot. I went down and was out of breath for no less than 4 minutes, without being able to even utter the words to say where it hurt to my buddies. Scary. "

Bro i got in this fight and got hit right in the liver reason why i can tell because i thought it wa nothing as soon as i took 2 steps bro the pain came outta no where. i was like the characters of an anime like what.... How? it can't be.. that shit shocked the shit outta me. i had to take a knee because not only that shit hurt it took away my breath. if you really wanna put somebody on the floor in pain and have them suffer them liver shots are the key.

Also the human body is complicated. You get hit in a certain place while you are making a particular movement, anything can happen. On the other side you can see guys get hit square on the chin with huge shots and they don't even dip.

Danny Williams with the bad shoulder boxing ONE-HANDED showed us sportsmanship, grit, definition of manhood, grin n bear it, I got a job to do here I can quit AFTER - that's the kind of athlete we want in our Olympic games representing us. To win with injury. That says so much more. It's like they have their own issue of the word "Winner" - it has a crown on top of every letter, gangsta blunt and sunglasses.
