I'm not saying that those people are stupid for liking generic music, but some people just don't care for emotions and meaning in music, which is a shame for so many artists who consistently release brilliant music.

Eden Gallagher Sorry, didn’t realize that. But even on the subject of music, 2017 was still worse than 2016. Most big hits this year were Trap rap songs and there was less diversity in popular music. It seems like more great artists died in 2017 and bands that used to be great like LP and FOB put out subpar songs and albums. The tropical house that ruled a lot of 2016 was some what interesting, but almost everything in 2017 sucked.

Warning: if you are very triggered by Taylor Swift's monstrosity of a song, Look What You Made Me Do, please read with caution. I was at a school dance, and the DJ was playing some pretty good songs and I was having a fun time. All of a sudden, like satan rising from hell, Look What You Made Me Do came on, and within a few seconds, the screaming started. The screams of the damned, to be completely correct. A thousand devils, the spawns of satan started screeching as if they were about to consume the souls of the innocent. The torturous song was blasting through my ear drums; it was louder than any of the other songs that were played. Ear rape. All of the devil's little demons started running together and jumping up and down. Soon, more of them started to join, with what it seemed like a thousand more demons running into the gymnasium. I was being blinded by the flashing lights that shone around the room. I knew I had to get out of there. But with all the demons trying to join the satanic ritual, I barely made it out alive. The memory pops into my brain every once and a while, and I just wish I can finally forget. I no longer want this song to haunt me or anyone else for now on.
