My area has around 95 channels I can pick up but I'm very confused when searching and seeing differences in the Impedance. I've seen some w/good ratings show 80 Ohm and others with good ratings show 20 OHM -- do you want a higher or lower Impedance or does it really matter? thanks!

I tested many indoor and outdoor antennas and this is from 10 years ago but I bought this 1 antenna they sell or sold at amazon and I found it at a electronic store for 25 bucks claimed 40 mile range. It was UHF only but that made it smaller and no long metal poles to mess with for VHF and I still got my local VHF chan. The UHF which has the most channels anyways it got me channels from 80 miles away as I was able to hook it at the window and point to the furthest city. All other indoor crap I had could not even do half as good, it even was pretty equal to a big outdoor antenna I tested with signal meters. It was called Phillips Mant 940 and I think it goes by another name now but it comes with a mini amplifier you plug into the power before your TV and it wont work unless you plug in the amp. The best outdoor I use for my area with several areas to grab channels is the DB4E by CM. Its a beast but say you live on the 30th floor in a apartment and your window faces far away cities the mant 940 at 25 bucks will get you tons of stuff. I was shocked at its performance that cheap.

The digital TV signal is a ‘line of sight’ signal. Typically, the higher you have your antenna, the better the reception. While signals pass through walls and other surfaces, the more obstructions the signal encounters, the weaker the signal and this causes signal disruption. "LINE OF SIGHT" is the key here. Saying a TV antenna is good for 400 miles or 800 miles is a joke. The Earth is ROUND. so the light of sight isn't anywhere close to those miles.

How right you are. A better antenna than those 3 would be the RCA 65+ flat antenna available at Walmart. It comes with detachable cable so you can use RG6 cable with it for lower signal loss than the thin cable it comes with. The Antenna Man on KZbin, who has made TV antennas his life, is a good place to go to know more about antennas both indoor and outdoor ones.

@@Boomerlake I love the TV commercial that talks about the great discovery (it'a an antenna that's been around 120+ years, and 60 years ago, almost evryone had one of their rooftop...or had "rabbit ears" inside the house. 🙂

Also, there is no such thing as a “digital” or “HD” antenna. Television antennas are pieces of metal, designed and cut to a specific length to pull a specific range of frequencies (VHF and UHF).
