I have a deadbolt which has a lock cylinder in the front and also in the back. So I can lock and unlock my deadbolt from the inside as well. (a would be thief would have to take anything out the window and not through the door.) Is there any smart locks which have incorporated this feature instead of the twist handles?

Not to many smart locks have double sided keypad option as it’s not complying with building codes etc. There is commercial grade keypads that they are double sided but they are not compatible on residential homes but only on commercial business.

The Schlage Connect is an old version but also have some good features like Z-Wave technology for smart home etc Overall it’s old keypad and my recommendation is the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt. Do you have any other questions?

You know that I was looking for the keyless entry locks on the market, just to find out that it's whether pin keyed or keyway as an absolute to get into the lock. do you know that the key way is the most vulnerable spot burglars or key access illegal access there are or is. solely relying on the key hole as the main entry point, or the pin pad, and as you had already know these access thru locks are highly reliable to your highy valuables inside... so having wifi is the ultimate weapon against these maladaptable people with vicious intentions. do you think the multi-lock keyway is the way to go. if so, I should highly look into it, like now?

Can a Medeco M3 Maxum deadbolt be not bump nor picked, because I know that this is the way the burglars been in the house daily due to its easy accessiblity of a lock that had been on the market picked proof for at least 5 years? I know this, because I kept loosing things daily, for it must be easy to take access. you said that the multi lock is not picked nor bump proof? for sure?

Thanks for the video, you mentioned that the august door lock does not work with hi security locks such as multipoint system... is there a smart lock that works with multipoint security doors? I am specifically talking about a Tessa door lock... thanks

Hi Roberto, So in general you already have a very secure type of door the Multipoint door system but if you want to have a WiFi smart lock it’s going to be a problem unfortunately. I would try to contact the door manufacture and ask if they have any compatible Wi-Fi smart locks with your door etc.

If the other locks in your house also schlage brand so you’ll need to call a local locksmith to rekey all of them to the same key or just the Schlage Encode to the same key as the rest of the house. Other option is to go with your new Schlage Encode to a local locksmith store front and ask from them to rekey it to your current Schlage house keys and that can save you little bit money 😉

Be careful. My encode routinely loses connection to the network (intermittently). Schlage says there is no cure because I'm using a combined 2.4/5ghz SSID. Almost all modern routers do this, including all MESH networks (I'm using Orbi).

@@S.E.Locksmith I can send you the dialog with Schlage, but basically they said that this lock is unable to deal with a dual-band SSID so that it maintains connection. My lock (despite several efforts to mitigate the issue recommended by Schlage) loses connection several times a day (usually reconnects within a short period of time....) I've spent several days in email conversations with both Netgear (Orbi's mfgr) and Schlage. There is no cure.

I use Dual Band SSID 2.4ghz and 5ghz Motorola Moden and Router (all-in-one) and I never have any issues. I’m pretty sure that you must choose the 2.4ghz in the very first programming of the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt and also the same 2.4ghz must be using in your smartphone and not the 5ghz for example. Try to rest the Schlage Encode to the factory settings and delete your lock, account and all information from the Schlage Home App and try again from the beginning and make sure that your smartphone is connected only to the 2.4ghz WiFi and not the 5ghz. Don’t forget make sure to delete all the information from your Schlage home app account and the lock, reset the Schlage Encode to the factory settings and try to do it all over again, but now connect your smartphone to the 2.4ghz and make sure to choose the 2.4ghz from the available networks when you get to this step on the programming for the keypad. *Also try to reset your router by unplug it from the electricity before you starting with the programming and all the other good stuff. sometime resetting the router can help and also Internet providers recommend to do it once in a while. Let me know how things works for you.

I set up a 2.4 ghz old Wi-Fi router in bridging mode with a different SSID and changed the lock to that network. Same problem. I think Schlage is blaming the network so they don’t have to admit it’s their fault.
