Congrats! I remembered going camping at Port Austin at the Thumb and there was a river a mile from camp. I went do there and fished alone at midnight without a camera or light and landed a 55 inch Musky off of a 1960’s style block fish crank bait. It was a fight of a life. Unfortunately, while I was unhooking it, it wiggled and ripped my line and swam away. It’s a blessing in disguise because I originally was going to mount it on my wall. However, he’s in the wild for someone else to catch

@@awdobsession717 Exactly, no one wants a screamed running commentary while they’re playing a fish, and how arrogant have you got to be to start telling someone how to fish while they’re playing a fish, or releasing your catch etc. Doesn’t matter how experienced he is, don’t patronise people. I find second clips enthusiasm much much more enjoyable, that’s real nerves and joy, I can practically hear him shaking haha

It’s really cool to see such a long battle for a Muskie. Usually the guy has the fish in the boat in ten seconds and I’m like - wtf, what’s the fun in that? Excellent video.
@DurealzForReal

because the fishing you're talking about is not the reason those guys are fishing for bass. bass fishing is not all about the fight, its about catching consistent fish and big fish. takes years to master and is a specialized art in its own. musky fishing takes a lot to master as well but catching them is right person, right time, right area, and/or right bait. you're not fishing for multiple, you're often fishing for one. thousand casts it what its called because its true. sure you can have a 2-3 musky day but you can also go weeks, months without one.

@edisonschlenker7294
@edisonschlenker7294 2 жыл бұрын
They can get a bit bigger than pike I think, but the main differences are that pike have 5 pores on the lower jaw where muskie have 6-9 and muskie have more pointed tails. Muskie have far more variations in their colour and patterns but their spots are always dark if they have them. Pike almost always have green backs and sides with light spots except for silver pike which are a mutant variation.

those are some absolute monsters. Nothing more exciting that hooking a musky....especially by accident. my most recent muskie was caught in early december here in WV while i was jigging for crappy on a light bass rod with 8 lbs test. i was reeling in a crappy at the base of this small waterfall downstream from Burnsville Dam when it got absolutely smoked just 5 feet from me in less than a foot of water. It was too big to reel in on my gear so i just backed up real quick until the fish came ashore lol. It measured out at 41 inches so not the biggest but still a pretty big boy. Once you catch one, its all you can think about.

Never seen someone getting so excited over a fish. It must be some kind of mental disease

Becoming excited, thrilled, and feeling utter joy , and expressing it openly without holding back is NOT a mental disease. It’s called being human. I hope you’re lucky enough to experience something in your life even close to what any of the folks I’m this video did.

My dad actually caught a musky before I haven’t. I only made one fishing video and I caught a massive bluegill. That was the biggest blue girl I’ve ever watched that one was huge and might’ve been. I don’t know. I’ve got a few babies. That’s for sure. I’m a pawn.
