VFV is also unhedged, which is (in my opinion) a better way to go for Canadians. It’s very rarely the case that the cad strengthens against the USD so it’s an advantage to be unhedged. But I understand the argument for buying the hedged version.

I completely agree with you on the benefits of investing in unhedged ETFs like VFV for Canadians. Given the historical trend of the CAD rarely strengthening against the USD, staying unhedged often works in our favor. That said, I also see the merit in opting for hedged versions, especially for those who prefer to mitigate currency risk. It's all about finding the right balance based on individual risk tolerance and investment goals!

What you think about VCN?

Great question, I consider VCN to be a "Forever Hold" type ETF which I talk about here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5XRmnaapMSYqpY

Hey Danish, I’m looking for your advice- I’m trying to buy an etf for my FHSA that I can put a couple hundred dollars in every few months. Mainly a dividend earning etf to hold for a while- looking for your perspective... really like your channel. Thank you

Thanks for reaching out and for the kind words about my channel! 😊 When it comes to using your FHSA for a downpayment on a home, it’s generally better to focus on total return rather than just dividend income. While dividend ETFs can provide a steady income stream, they might not offer the same growth potential as other types of ETFs. For a goal like a downpayment, you might want to consider ETFs that have a good balance of growth and income to maximize your overall returns.
